Hellball bug?

I went to the Ice efreets caves and killed Jin Lance Voo there today.
It was surprisingly easy because his hellballs could not penetrate my protection from elements spell.
All the different elemental damage types where evaluated against the initial 40 points of elemental resistance.

This must be some kind of bug.
Killing Jin Lance Voo was never this easy.

Ouch. Looks like it's simultaneously checking all of them against your 40 resist and not applying the damage to the resist until the end of the calculation.

are u sure u don't have buffer up?

what happens with buffer is it will only collapse after taking 60 I think points of one elemental damage type.

so if he does 50 FIRE COLD SONIC SO ON AND SO FORTH U WILL TAKE NOTHING SINCE IT WAS NEVER ABLE TO fully break it.

on this note I think hellball should be strengthened since a level 6 spell can negate a level 10 spell. I don't think it should work this way.

havok is right on this one --- it is quite funny --- i have done this many time -- i resisted a hellball w/ my crafter mage when leveling him in Jin;s lair.....

then maybe it would auctually be worth taking as a feat
