When attaining Master Artisan can you add a class and still retain it?
e.g. 19lvl fighter with Master Artisan Exotic Weapons then takes 1 lvl in Rogue.
I'm gonna try it out, but it would be helpful if someone knew exactly.
also same as example above but instead of Rogue , 1 lvl Weapon Master.
I can't seem to find any refrence to Weapon Masters and crafting. I would be logical that a Weapon Master could craft to Master Artisan if his Weapon fell in that weapon category?
Crafters
yes, i have multiclassed after hitting MA w/o any problems...

you can multi class after attaining MA in crafting without little problems. if you multi before then you have to have atleast 19 lvls of the MA class before you can attain it. meaning if your a fighter and take mage or something you can't attain MA in weapons/armor until your 19 fighter lvls.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Well, I think is what he was asking about guys.
So lets say hes level 19 fighter and achieves Master Artisan. I think hes wondering if he can go, lets say, Shadowdancer and still stay a Master Artisan.Neversummer 4 Documentation wrote:If you have levels in Assassin, Blackguard, Cleric, Divine Champion, Dwarven Defender, Dragon Disciple, Paladin, Palemaster, or Shadowdancer, the maximum craft level you can attain is Craftsman (Level 3) in any Tradeskill (these classes have significant other duties to perform or skills to practice).
It will work, but to (roughly) quote Deputy 'with upcoming changes to crafting i wouldn't recommend it'.
Higher levels of crafting have been on the cards for a long time, if you take a prohibited class you could leave yourself out in the cold when they arrive.
And as this confuses everyone, i'll post this:
Provided you have no levels in prohibitive classes, you can achieve crafting skill X if:
the sum of all class levels *that qualify for level X* comes to the level requirement of X.
All classes qualify for Craftsman crafting in all disciplines, except Arcane Crafting where only wiz, sorc and bard levels count at all.
eg: rangers and rogues can achieve Artisan fletching, so you can achieve artisan as a 12/3 ranger/rogue, however rogues do not qualify for MA fletching, so you'll need to wait until 19/3 for that.
another example: fighters can achieve MA armouring and rogues can achieve Craftsman, so you can become a Craftsman as a 5/3 fighter/rogue, but then can't attain MC until you're 12/3.
PS: i'm remembering the crafting level requirements as 1, 4, 8, 12, 15 and 19 in case my numbers don't add up.
