HELP! Wrongfully deleted toon!

I have a problem... and it is nearly identical to the problem Grumppy had is his topic "Corrupted Login".

I had 3 toons this morning, 2 of which are now gone, only one of which I wanted to delete.

Kolias Sanneser was the one I wanted deleted, so I stripped him and gave his stuff to another toon, Lucin Tangerlon{FoN}, then went to the Devil Angel in Melencia with Kolias. That was this morning. When I came back just now, I started up NWN and direct connected to NS4, and saw only 2 toons, which I expected, but noticed that one was the toon I had deleted this morning (Kolias). So I logged in with him and I immediatly was ported to the "Last Journey" map that the Devil Angels port you too when a toon is deleted. So I restart NWN and see only one toon now. I just want to know where Lucin went, and I want him back! Its bloody hard to start a monk...

Any help in this matter or the restoration of Lucin would be greatly appreciated.

Somethone more knowledgeable would have to answer but you went to the devil/angel in melencia with a character from NC? I assume since all FoN are from NC.

Actually, the toon I wanted to delete was from AO. I had created him before I had joined FoN. I just went to Melencia to delete him because that was the closest Devil Angel that I knew of.

i think some of you guys need to try and use the devil angel in the town that you originally made the char.....maybe it will sort some of this out?

Possibly, but what's done is done, and unless someone has a time machine I could borrow, only divine intervention, DM intervention (or are they the same?), or a complete re-make of the character will rectify this situation.

right after the wipe I made 2 characters, deleted the 1st and it deleted the 2nd one instead, upon re-entering with the remaining toon (the one that was to be deleted) it went to the death room and deleted that one too.

I haven't tried again since.

I do believe your character is (as are all deleted characters are) stored somewhere and can be brought back from beyond the grave, hopefully a DM that can do this will contact you via. PM here. I wouldn't re-create a toon with the exact same name, just in case it overwrites something....

So Im not the only one besides Grumppy who has had this problem. Well, thanks all, Im off to supper now, and I hope a DM or dev sees this and can fix it.

P.S.
It would be nice if there was a way to change a toon's name or description after its creation, for adding guild tags and such... I have a lvl 21 cleric that I would rather keep instead of remaking so he could have the FoN tag.

I'll get your toon back for you tonight.

Firstly, it doesn't matter which Devil Angel you use. They are all identical.

We're getting an error with toon deletion at a rate of about 1 a week at the present time. 100% have been recovered so don't stress too much if this happens to you.

We devs have talked about some improvements we can make to the system, but nothing planned yet.

Please checkout this toon naming guide which should greatly reduce the chances of you getting any problems.

As for re-vamping the deletion system, how about make it so that talking to the devil angels just flags a character to be deleted upon the next reset, but could be canceled before the reset takes place?

I have deleted one toon ,and instead lost my main flagship build 'fatzo' ...

so i guess its no as uncommon as i had hoped

I am going to disable the devil angels tonight.

We seem to be having an increase in the number of issues all of a sudden.

AHHHH i got zing drunk and he restored the wrong toon !!!!
