Why would they be asking for offical tags for guilds if there wasnt going ot be a vault wipe?.... so when we all make new toons they can insitute the no tag no key rule.

Because if you read Netrom's post he says he wants the tags because they are changing the way Guild Key Gens work and only allowing toons with correct tags access to the guild hall that is why he is asking for tags !!!!!!!

he said future characters, imposing that all made from this point on...which gives a quasi-validation to Jean's ( mrjigaboo's) statement........ in reality, i think we are all either paranoid, bored , or both...i am just waiting for this post to be pwnd by the devs just like other speculatory posts about wipes have been in the past....im too lazy to link others for examples

Well, on one had, I don't want to see a vault wipe because it would take out all the characters that I've worked on, even if they're mostly weak crafting toons. It would also wipe out the nice stockpile of gear I have sitting on my mule, mostly stuff I use for lower levels, not too much spare epic stuff.

But I've also got several broken characters in the vault that either didn't get deleted properly or don't pass the NS4 inspection or whatever and are just stuck there.

I agree there is both good and bad points to a server wipe, personally I would prefer a server wipe to happen when BETA is removed to have a fresh start on the open version.

That being said a wipe could fix as Elagneros said alot of broken toons I know I have 10 or so in my character list aswell so what to do

is dealing with a broken toon listed in your login screen that irritating that you would be willing to start from scratch loosing months of devoted time to leveling and gearing up? i have one messed up on my account as well, and it does annoy me, but i just work around it....i also created a second account to quell my aggrivation at one point, but regardless, i find it difficult to believe that players ( not even coming from the dev's) considering a at-will vault wipe.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

-- shhhhh !!! heres an idea ---- delete your account yourself and save me and the others who would rather not see their toons and devoted time alot of time get burned

---but i must say, delete it quickly so you dont have a sudden change of thought....usually what i do when i want to start over in a game -- delete the savegame files in a hurry so that i dont try to convince myself to store them in some backup folder first.

---and even after the server comes out of "beta" does the loss of a word really call for a vault wipe....unless the vault is that constipated that it needs to be done...ill bet the devs are sitting back and watching how far we can take this thread b4 they say somthing, tho it is possible that they dont know either --- As he rebuilds the box big DD might have a clumsy moment and spill a "beverage" on the works pwning the entire database

it was said after the last wipe...no more wipes will be expected unless there are major changes to the database, major changes in coding causing trouble that we have to wipe, or we come out of BETA.

coming out of BETA is the only wipe that is gauranteed to happen no matter what.

I've always considered NS4's "Beta" to be like Google's beta... it doesn't mean anything really. It's possible NWN2 will be out around the time they remove that label, and I'll be switching over like most people anyway.
