plane of water

Post by Death Dealer1 »

wow. this place is one of the most diabolical areas so far. great work on it. i liked starting high then moving steadily lower until i couldn't see in the deep dark depths of water.

i have to admit it tooke a bit to figure out why i was finding bladders. sharks and sauhagins were a suprise.

something to look into though is the monsters. i was taking 50+ damage from gaurdians and my summon was taking 100+. guardians spamming ice storms on you while beating you to death then add in the sirens curse songs/dirge combo isn't very nice. its extremely hard to even get your foot in the door to this plane.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Yeah the water plane is cool... and really tough... good area to go to with large party. I've never seen an area that looks like it too... pretty sweet :)

Water and Air genasi are both immune...we planned ahead with that whole "immune to drowning" thing ;)

my PM is immune too..of course thats because i plan ahead and carry 500lbs of differing gear.

the master of the sea was excellent work, i especially liked it when he quivering palmed my team mate and left me all alone once again to solo another planar boss. he does hit very very hard continuously though and is one of the toughest things around.

so why didn't we use a big snake or dragon and call it Leviathan?

Yes Lokey and I witnessed your tussle with the master of the sea - it got quite boring in parts though you and the wanker need to make it more exciting for spectators ;)

My favorite part was when Bazz'ezz cried all over the DM channel for someone to raise him....mwahahaha

we DMs have a game we play. its called "lets see what we can get blamed on chase". we do stuff and watch while chase gets the blame. and he tries to do stuff without gtting blamed.

unfortunately Chase always loses :?

yeah, one big thing about being underwater like that. how are you supposed to use a raise dead scroll to give someone 1hp without them being killed in the next blink by water damage?

I'd heard mutterings of magic items that would allow you to "breathe" underwater, any truth to this?

I am quite a way from being able to go there with any of my characters, but it would be good to know.

Great Work on the Water Plane!!

The sirens are crazy hard coupling curse song with durge dropped my stats by 11 and effectively my ac by 11 too! I would say that it's not too hard for a large party to do, just bring rezz scrolls and not raise:)

The boss isnt that hard at all, the sharks were hitting for more dmg than he was (is it supposed to be that way?).

Me and Brilhasti found multiple items from the boss, the best robes ive seen yet, a very nice +disc/+listen helm (good for bards), and some kicking monk gloves (yes, they are insane  ).

I would venture to guess that the drowned pirates might drop their scimitars and short swords and the spirits might drop their katana's? Not sure though, nothing dropped for us off those guys, and we killed many. A trident did drop off a warrior though.

My thanks to the Devs for another well done plane!

Oh, Leviathan would be cool, maybe like a water dragon?

One thing that is an eventual goal is that each plane connects with the one above or below it. In these 'interplane transitions' you'll have other boss creatures (like Alzaara and Ebontaxis). Our creative resource Yonwe has already suggested just such a creature as a Leviathan for the transition between the Water Plane and the one it's connected to.

I'm glad you're liking the plane so far. :) Unless there's a great outcry, I'll probably hold off working on more planes at the moment and work on other projects. As fun as new areas are to do, we're probably good with higher level areas at the moment.
