NPCs attacking each other - Master Li
NPCs attacking each other - Master Li
I've suspected this for a while, but I finally saw it this time when there server was laggy - some npcs are attacking others when they're not supposed to. It's definitely happening with Master Li in Bandit Camp: House. I'll try to start looking at other areas where it may be happening.
This has been happening since day one and iirc, I read something in-game (perhaps an item description) about Master Li revolting against the bandits. Or maybe it was something I read in NS3.5. Either way, I believe it's intentional and part of an incomplete storyline.
I personally love seeing npc's at each other's throats. It makes NS4 more lifelike.

I also saw leopards attacking Wargs or whatever kind of dogs those are that you see in lower levels. Since I am new I don't know which area it was. It was wooded, that help? And I think it was not Wargs but a mastif or something, in any case the leopard didn't like it. They were all hostile to me so I killed them all. I was just upset that something killed a kill that I wanted (specially when a mob did it!) Well, I wasn't realy upset but...
I guess this could cause lag, I didn't think about it that way though. It was funny watching the cat prowl up on his foe though, It even looked like he was crouching low like real big cats do when they are on the prowl.
In any case, it's not just limited to the kung-fooey guy.

different types of creatures are setup in different factions. the mastif might have been part of the bandits, in which case its hostile to animals. having different kinds of creatures attacking and killing each other is something that makes this server more realistic.
it adds to the flair when animals get hungry and want to eat each other.
