NWN2 news

Post by Lokey »

Website is back, http://www.atari.com/nwn2/

These screens look really nice: http://www.nwn2wiki.org/Screenshots#Gam ... ar_2006.29

There's been a few icky pieces of news from devs about things that won't be done or fixed, otherwise it looks really sweet (even aside from the toolset shots).

Just wondering how and if the plans for development of NS4 will be affected by the release of NWN2.

According to Play.com the game is Due for release on 09/06/2006

personally i can't wait, i hope they have prestiege classes in this one, Mainly the shifter is what i'm looking forward to but i wouldn't be suprised if they just had the basic classes to start with then added the prestiege classes in Expansion packs again, which i wouldn't personally mind i love expansion packs for NWN games.

Never been one much for shifters, they don't allow enough control over a character for me.

i just love the fact that you're not stuck with a single form and that each form has a special ability, petrification with medusa or the basilisk, dragon breath with the wyrmlings or dragons, throwing rocks with the stone golem. and when rping with one you can mix with most societies drow, rakasha kobolds etc. i'm just a shifteraholic. but still if they don't add shifter straight away i can still be my crafty little halfling rogue ^^ i miss those days.

Druid got a boost (too much) with polymorph in the new edition rules (3.5), and the polymorph spells were buffed in the same way. Master of Many Forms kinda resembles the 3.0 Shifter, don't know if it made it in to NWN2. I've asked about polymorph improvements on the NWN2 boards a few times, never got a response :(

I think another reason why I haven't played shifters much is that there isn't much documentation of the the intricacies of each shape like there is for the different classes and abilities for each class.

anyone know how accurate the NWN2wiki is on info for NWN2? most of the skills/feats they list look straight out of the book, but some stuff doesn't translate into game very well. i know some of their info is obsidian accurate.
if i didn't do it...someone else would have.

Obsidian *shudder*

I hope they have a top view like BG2/NWN has... I *hate* third person perspective.
