haste
haste
to all the people who are too lazy to walk places and want haste and other magic transportation goodies: get over it.
it takes time to get places. the lack of haste really doesn't hamper you're ability to walk, its just a different pace to get used to. a bunch of people have said this and i'll say it again, leave the NS3 mentality at the door. just because not having haste in NS3 was a severe disadvantage doesn't mean you absolutely need it in 4 in order to not be a cripple. if it is really that hard to get places, go find a server with one room that has portals to every other zone on the server. part of the fun is in the journey. if G1 had been one zone away from NS it wouldn't have been anywhere near as epic/fun/exhilirating to go fight her.

But my mentality states...
haste = saving time in real life....
ayeesh... time is of the essence here and i dont have time ....
so really maximizing time for me is a must unlike some who have all day to do things
so can YOU see the importance of some speed?
it is not even in-game issue... but rather something that helps me in real life.
*smiles*
imagine playing one hour
what can haste do?
and what can you do w/o haste?

AS, you're not missing out on ANYTHING, sure you could accomplish more in an hour with haste then without, but you'd also get to lvl 40 and get bored of the game twice as fast. Look at it this way, everyone is at the same pace so you're not falling behind, the persistancy makes sure you don't lose your positioning from your walk, so technically you are getting the same thing done in the same time just your time may be spread out over a few days. I actually prefer the unhasted aspect....gives monks an even greater advantage in running, and makes when you finally do aquire haste a great moment.

AS? well well you are taking it too far man.
hell i get your friggin point like
playing 1 hour a day from playing 16 hours a day. of course haste is out of that context.
but the time of doing things in that span of time will be less.
you want proof?
remember ns3?
try walking w/o haste from south road to giant mountain.
and do it with haste. check the number of secs - mins that you have saved. and if you still can't get it... well you're hopeless to talk too and perhaps i'm hopeless in explaining.

NS3 has NOTHING TO DO WITH NS4, DO NOT COMPARE THEM!
I played NS3 from December 02 until Tab called it quits with the Cali server and went onto trinity. After trinity 2 came out I went to some other servers and then to RP servers and im DAMN glad I did. You ignorant NS3ers are SO BLIND to the feeling of earning your characters abilities that you don't see how good earning haste is. It's such an anchievement that it actually MEANS something.

Also, lemmie add this in there; when everyone has haste monsters all must have haste to ballance it...so there is no speed advantage over monsters ever possible to earn. Haste is a good thing to be cherished and earned...after a few weeks of walking at this speed you wont notice it as much as you think.

Gah, 1 last thing.....try walking in stealth mode, heavily encumbered and down 3 floors in a huge dungeon crawler because you just beat the boss and do not have enough potions to fight your way out and can not run with all the new gear you just achived....you'll never be so thankful to be able to run at normal unrestricted *unhasted* speed

Haste has been rescripted to comply with the 3.5 edition rules, mostly: +1 dodge AC, +1 AB, +1 Reflex save and extra movement. No additional partial action = no extra spell casting speed or attack. Hence, a 3rd level spell no longer invalidates a feat that requires a +4 level spell slot (Quicken Spell).
