new races!
first and foremost, i would suggest an orc race. frankly it wouldnt be much differant from half orcs, maybe a little stronger and a little dumber, but thats about it.
additionally half giants would be a pretty cool race(i have the stats for them somewhere, i just cant find the book)
Maenads would make a pretty kick [censored] addition too, they are a sort of natural berserker race, very tough(in the same book as half giants)

actualy if a new orc race was added id suggest the irda from dragon lance we already have kender and honestly we dont need more dumb strong orc breeds half ogre is good enough for that. the irda are high ogres they have +2 int and cha and -2 con favord class mage ( tho i would like them to be sorcerers since there is only one race that favors sorc.) they have innate spells and the ablility to shapeshift into humaniod forms for game purposes id say give them some spell ability and nix the shapechange. even with the SC ability they have a 2 ecl. and this would go with the kender that are already on the server

I think half-ogre already covers orc and half-giant. I agree that gnomes might want an additional race, and dwarves deserve another as well (I hope there's another out there) because all 3 of theirs have Favored Class: Fighter. Maybe the Deef Dwarf perhaps. Initially they were Favored Class: Fighter too, but in tha book Is got it says they speak Goblin so maybe Favored Class: Barbarian. Deep Dwarves live in the underground like Duerger, but weren't evil nor associated with Drow. I don't know, just somethin' to spice it up. I think all the subraces are final however.

How about half-gnome, half-halfling. Quarterlings. They get -4 str, -4 con (they is little things), but +2 int, +2 chr (they is cute). To even them out, they get additional skill points at first level (6? 8?).
Then Evenshire can double its population before feeling the crush of urban overpopulation.

I hate to be the voice of disagreement (is typing a voice?) with the the constant flood of new things, countless they are, new subraces will be a very low priority if at all. That being said its good to see fresh suggestions it never hurts to bring new ideas to NS4, maybe not today or tomorrow but if it makes it fun for all why not take a look?

Half halfling and half what else? Usually the other half is human, so these guys would be taller than their counterparts. Actually, theres a halfling subrace called Tallfellow. These guys are a little shorter than an elf and taller than normal halflings. They are actually half-elf as well as half-halfling. They receive the elven bonus of basically being in detect mode all the time, as well as a +2 bonus to Spot, Listen, and Search. It also says they are less dextrous then their shorter fellows. Perhaps make their subrace bonuses +2 int and -2 str, and Favored Class: Wizard. It would be nice if halflings could have a mage race. All the other races (except half-orc/half-ogre) seem to have able mage builds.PeregrineV wrote:How about half-gnome, half-halfling. Quarterlings. That's a good one!Metis wrote:I hate to be the voice of disagreement...
Wiz mages though...
RK doesn't NEED gnomes for wizards. For sorcs maybe, but not wizards.
Dwarves and gnomes are very similar when it comes to making a wizard.
The only thing the gnome has is focus illusion (no that that is worth anything).
Both have the combat training feats (vs giants and such).
Both have boosted con.
Gnomes have hardiness vs illusions (+2 vs mindaffecting spells). Dwarves have it better with hardiness vs spells (+2 vs all spells).
Gnomes have +1 ac size bonus, dwarves have an advantage in that if you want to use autostill you can use a shield with your staff.
Other than that gnomes have some trivial skill bonuses conducive to casting but that's about it.
Considering that most wizards go pure class till they get their good spells the multiclass favoured wiz for gnome doesn't matter much either.
As much I as don't like using dwarves, they do appear to be very promising candidates for armored wizards.
wudunt work, as the current subrace script gives permabuffs instead of literally changing stats... and the total is +12 w/ the current max|-Ifrit-| wrote:yeah ewoks -10 int -10cha but... +100 everything else and only avalible to people in the Ewok guild
