NS4 Praise and Condemnation
Well why not have an easier way to get around... no one else thinks that porting to town is a good idea? If not, give me some info as to why not.
I agree with you Malater about the banks, that would be a very good idea.

There are some things that are very lightweight, worth a lot of money, stackable, and aren't subject to respawn penalty -- gems. Rather than selling them off, hold on to them. Unlike NS3, the gems aren't worth 1 GP each. There are also some of the small art objects that are worth quite a bit and fairly light in weight.Malatar wrote:Ack, forgot one more thing that would be nice. Since you lose gold that's on you when you die, how about a bank? No need to store items, though it would be nice. But someday when we actually have money, it would be nice not to lose a chunk everytime we die. That just leads to money mules...

I don't think anyone has them for sale, Gil, and you'd pay more than they gave you back. Best bet is just to designate one inventory page as a 'gem bag' (or if you find one of the small boxes that some mobs drop, use that), and just hold on to the ones you find. That way you don't lose the money for them in a respawn, and when you want to buy something you can sell them off. All shopkeepers should accept gems.

From what I've seen so far I like it a lot. At first it seems there isn't much to kill, but after a bit of exploration I found enough to satisfy my appetite for blood.
The loot dropped seems a bit much to me though, seems I get about 100 gold and several magical items from each low-level creature I kill. Even rats and other animals seem to posses coin.. I quickly ended up not picking up any more stuff because it's simply too much to carry. The quality of the drops seems to be ok (as far as I could ID the stuff), but ammount simply seems too much to me. Maybe animals shouldn't drop anything at all?

I have opinions of my own, strong opinions - but I don't always agree with them!
well... rats do accumulate things. Particularly bright shiny objects.
If the rat drops a large item... that would seem out of place... And I have, not in the game, seen some rather large rats.
