capture the flag

Well, we've been playing capture the flag on East. lvl 16, no magical gear aside from boots of speed. there has been much death.

post here for comments, suggestions, build ideas, and strategies.

take some time and look closely at the classes and spells and think about what would work in low magic. a lot of stuff that's normally useless in NS because of the gear is -very- useful in low magic.

Like through the tell I sent you. Have specialised events, for example

Battle of the Darkages: No casters/druids/Clerics, etc... Fighter based only.

Battle of the Magi: Caster only battles (your idea DM ex Machina)

or, even pit a bunch of lowbies against a horde of orcs or goblins Like storm the fort or something,

I just wanted to thank DM EX for coming over to west and inviting us to join in a super event. I know I personaly had a hoot and would love to do it again.
Also hats off to all that played in the event as it was fun had by all with no complaining of any kind, shows the true colour of your player base and DM's

I suggest each server have their own team for capture the flag. I would like to see East, North, West, NS 4 and NS4 reflections each muster up at least one 6 man team for capture the flag. *throws down the gauntlet* bring it on!

server vs server would be fun, though it'd take some planning to be able to get a 6 person team from each server available at any given time.

First I'd like to say its super fun and doesnt last long enough! So I got a couple of suggestions

It would help if the Tags were infront of the player names, if you crash during the event its hard to know who needs to be hostiled again to get back into action. Even if its a little tag like : <TR> playername <DM-EVENT> the TR of course standing for Team Read or TB for team blue just so we playing know whose who from player list quicklly.

Second the building up of borders is tuff on the server lag wise...So it'd be really cool if we had a zone set up specifically for the event with borders and nooks and crannies built in and no exit so toons could be left there between events.

Third it takes a while for the DM to have to lvl us all up and provide us with newbie gear so a leveler toon that checks for lvl 1 player and gives it 16 lvs would be great as well as a Gear Toon to pass out the newbie gear and team helms.

I think if the event could be prepped and cleaned faster the DMs would be more likelly to have them more often and they could last longer everyone thats gotten involved in it so far has loved it I even enjoyed just watching it when Hubby played once!

ps. I'm with Machina on wanting to see some other builds running around, the clerics and sorces are kinda takin' over lol

ps.ps. An allignment shifting toon might be nice too incase some one wants to get really kooky with a lvl 16 build, like paly blackguard or something bizaar
