Yes Lothy, but last I heard max lvl will be 25-30.
Although this is unconfirmed atm. Maybe they'll cap spell res when it reaches 30, guess we'll have to wait and find out :o

Er to be fair the level cap is 40, the reallistic highest level you can obtain with currently in place mobs is 25-30, from what I heard. That's not the same, as I'll sit there and camp a mob for my 8 or so exp per kill till I get to level 40, just like I did in the South, Good the Bad and The Ugly event. Another example of what NS3 was really about, no uber gear at all, heck no haste even till like level 8 or higher for most players in the event.

monster CR should influence EXP.

if CR = Player lvl, then exp should be around 60 (by my ns4 beta observations)

i doubt that all monsters in NS4 have CR lower than 10 (you are saying 8 exp per kill). i might be wrong about general exp calculation formula. could a DM/developer inform us about this matter?

thanx.

i belive nwn trys to emulate the 3ed rules on xp so if your average party level is lower by no more then 5 levels of the creatures cr you get max xp. if you are more then 5 levels below you get less xp and if you are => you get less xp. this system was designed to keep low levels from exploiting high mobs, and to encourage you to push the envelope a bit and fight things harder then you.

it doesn't really matter. if the highest level monsters are geared to be an appropriate challenge or a level 30 then level 30 should be the cap. if its 40 then its 40. if its 10 then its 10. it doesn't make a difference in the long run (well actually it does but not so much as people think). while 40 would be nice, it might be too much for this kind of toned down server

They did plan for level 40 areas, its called the planes. However at beta launch they are inaccessable, this why everyone thinks there is a lower level cap. The reality is once NS4 is "done" there will be leveling to 40 in the planes. :) Hope this info helps ya. Still wish some one who knew/knows would comment about drow/giz SR going above level 20 SR.

From what I've read the planes will likely be implemented later in the beta, however the planar areas are for levels 20-30. I dont really think they're intended for any higher than that.
