my xp experience
As I have been hacking through rats in Sleeth and then reading more in the forums is it just me, or are xp rewards very low? It is hard to enjoy something that seems like more work than my job. I don't have a problem normally with losing some xp when dying, it raises the stakes and makes you work harder but when you can't get any xp in the first place it just isn't enjoyable.
I know you devs are working hard to make a cool place for people to play and have a load of fun. Am I alone in my thoughts or is xp just a real commodity here?

Try and party up with someone for a few levels if you can - that generally makes the going a bit more enjoyable and easier to have someone watch your back.
Also, there's usually plenty of folks willing to help out with some starter gear or gold as well.
Stick with it - once you know the ropes a little better, the XP will move faster.

Because PvM and PvP are two different things. I agree with Spura that Shifters need alot of work done, I DONT agree with her that the problems with shifter are the Devs fault. It seems to me that every post she makes about the shifter, she points at the devs and blames them, when they didnt make the shifters problems; Bioware did. The devs are trying to fix Biowares many, many , many mistakes but they can only do so much so fast. give em a break and you might see the fixes faster.Red-Mane wrote:then why are you always posting about how weak the build is?Spura wrote:Well as far as leveling with TC character goes druids and shifters, it is onlt hard from lvl 9 to level 13, everything else is smooth sailing. With my shifter I leveled from 13 to 19 in one day and from 20 to 27 in one day.

Ain't that the truth. Bioware included a lot of stuff in HotU for the benefit of PW, unfortunately, they went out of their way to do stuff like make casters ridiculously powerful, which unfortunately makes PvP balancing difficult.lordvan52681 wrote: when they didnt make the shifters problems; Bioware did. Aye, but trust me, we're definitely working on the balancing! Shifter's going to get another update soon, with Assassin and Champion of Torm following in an effort to balance out the more underpowered PrCs and make people want to play something other than LA, SL, and AO. The basic classes are also getting a thourough scrubbing, in the hands of those other than me, which will definitely make it worth not making "cheesy" builds and stick with more pure builds.
Of course, all this is while the planar areas are being artfully crafted... it seems like we have more people working on this stuff than ever and we still get backlogged

How does making assassin better make less ppl join SL?
It's not to necessarily make people "join SL," but join SL for the reason of joining SL for the sake of gaining something unique from being a member. In a perfect world, PrCs would be a primary reason for join any given faction; but with Shadowdancer so prevalent in NS4 in general, people would rather be a SD in Menzo than an Assassin, where in the "real world" of Aetheria, Assassins should be more common. Heck, Faiths and Pantheons has Lolth being the goddess of Assassins in her portfolio... Shadowdancers would prolly just be thrown out into the Underdark, naked with a rusty dagger to make it fun to watch

lol, i can agree with that =P But to be honest, clerics and wizards are far more prevelant in SL (as they should be) than SD. Assassin should rank 3rd in a drow city as most women are clerics and most men are wizards or fighters.
Still though, thanks for all the work in making the classes better. Cant wait to see how you guys top yourselves time and again =P

well, when leveling you can use cheap tricks. Like finding a type of monster you are immune to and stick with that and level on that. That doesn't work vs players I have to say. 13 to 19 I did because I found that a very unused shape works very well vs a particualar mob, which produced lots of exp. 20 to 27 was because I was in a party of 5 whcih produced total carnage in frost giants.MasterYoda wrote:Seriously......Red-Mane wrote:then why are you always posting about how weak the build is?Spura wrote:Well as far as leveling with TC character goes druids and shifters, it is onlt hard from lvl 9 to level 13, everything else is smooth sailing. Most leveling is done because I can get 100% slashing immunity and 100% piercing immunity. When facing players that doesn't work, because:
a) they switch to blunt
b) they have magical, neg energy or something like that damage on weapon. This is where the my crap AC makes them pile bunch of low damage attacks on me and low AB I have makes me unable to hurt them. Result is that I can't touch other player but he can slowly wear me down.
Also this just in: lvl 31 iron golem vs CR 20 Volksrel. Volksrel won.
