AFK
Some of you may have noticed during busy times if I am on I will look for people afk for extended period of time and boot them, of course they could log back on at anytime. I would ask if your going to be afk for a long time, 20 minutes or so, that you log off and come back when you are able to play. This mainly applies to the weekends when the volume is much higher. Having the AI script running in an area where someone is just sitting doesn't help and I don't like taking my time trying to find those people so I can reduce lag a little. going to do something for a couple minutes is no big deal but if you or someone in your group is going to be gone a while, you or ask them to leave and come back, every little bit helps.
I will always send you a tell asking if your online before I boot anyone.

Glad to see this is getting set into action across the board. People sitting in hunting areas afk just blows my mind. It's one thing to hit a city and go afk where it doesn't affect much, hell if you're gonna go afk do it in a Smithy or Clothing shop so people can use it, but to go afk in an area where you will keep things from spawning is not cool. Props to the DM's doing this & props to Meliki (sp?) for moving the corpse of someone I killed for going afk in Frozen Reach for over an hour.

If I afk for a long period of time like that, I do it in a safe area like my guild hall or Avendell. I don't do it anywhere else, because there's too many toon is don't trust on this server, and I don't feel like getting pked.
If I'm nowhere near a safe area, I log. I don't like taking the chance a mob will wander over to me and kill my toon when I'm afk.

MLoki, unfortunatly it doesnt matter where you go AFK at. It still adds to the overall server load. So ... regardless of where you are if your walking farther than the fridge, please be polite to the rest of the players and reduce the server load when you can.

A bump to bring this back to everyones attention. Server is running very full so if you do go afk for a long time start expecting harsher punishment then just dyeing your armor. No reason someone else shouldn't be able to play while your doing something else for 20 minutes.
