Downside is that NWN only has models for Hill, Fire, and Frost Giants. Anything else requires a hak, which means the giants you see in the game now are what we got.

but seriously why not just use the models and call them diffrent giants? true not the niftyest of soulutons but effective atleast. or as fricebottle said make a gateway to a giant haven or something and just make the normal models have beefed up stats and cr.

speaking of lack of monsters...
Consider NS3.5's epic areas! They use the base non-haked NWN as well, and you can find Gel.Cubes, Trogs, Beholders, Demon Dorfs (smurfs!), 2 Dracoliches, Demon princes, all the golems, and many other interesting creatures to fight (although they are placed in a very 'last-minute' kind of way and are all sectioned off in little 'pockets').
I'm not TOO excited about fighting wave after wave of crit&sneak immune elementals, on ns3.5 thankfully I only ever leveled on elementals for about 3 levels, then went on to the EC run.
Hopefully as NS4 evolves, the epic areas will be a (super?)natrual extension of the world and will utilize all of the built-in models available. After leveling over 10 toons into the late 20's and early 30's I'm getting just a little bored of the endless ice giants or zons over and over... that is if someone else hasn't killed them already, or you have a party that kills them so fast that the whole area never spawns fully.
