Equipment magical bonuses question

I have probably overlooked this but I really need this explained..

I have a chracter with a 18 con. I bought +1 con bracers, but my HP didn't go up.

Why is that ?

con increases HP only when its even

so having 19 is just like having 18. youll get your bonus at 20 CON

If +1 con bracers and 18 ([color=red]4[/color]) con that makes you have a con of 19 ([color=red]4[/color]) then your mod is still 4 and doesn't change your hp

con 18+1 pair of bracers = 19 con your mod only goes up on even numbers

@ con of 20 (5) then you get one more hp for each lvl you have

all stats work this way only even #'s count

12 - 1
14 - 2
16 - 3
18 - 4
20 - 5
etc...
