According to the latest Update Log post:
"Buyback value for gems and treasure items (art, trinkets, etc) increased upwards by about 5X previous value.
Buyback value for gold nuggets, bars, and sarcoghaguses increased significantly.

While I'm certainly not opposed to the increase in value, I have to wonder what the point is. The only thing I spend gold on now is heal kits and ferry tickets (and res penalties), simply because there's nothing else worth buying. The NPC shops ceaced to be useful to me about 15 levels ago and interactions with other players (trades for res scrolls, etc) are always for items. I literally have no use for gold.
I think the mod would really benefit from facilitating some kind of a market for players, especially since it has such a robust crafting system. It would be really nice to have something set up in Avendell, since it's the City of Trade and all.
Just a couple thoughts... meanwhile I'll keep stockpiling all this damned gold.
More Gold... woot... I guess...

Well, the only good stuff is pretty much the MA gear, and you got to wait 12 hours between craftings. I haven't made any crafted stuff for sale to the general public yet because I'm stocking my own characters and guild members first, and alos, I'm too lazy to run over to Li'norala to make boots cloaks and gloves anyway (very little in armor or weapon crafting that's worth it...I think there's all unique stuff now).Death Dealer1 wrote:the crafting system in the mod is supposed to be a player based service. the only reason its not is because nobody crafts good things everyone wants. scrolls are the only thing worth crafting....buy some rez scrolls..players should up the price

I am personaly for the increase in prices. But some items have had a bit too much increase in price. Like I sold a brass mug for like 800 gold. But there is a good use for gold, and a lot of the ornamental items are picked up off a low monsters from low level characters. The Frostdale guys drop nuggets and such, so I don't think its too much a problem of being pointless because lowbies need that gold. Also its exspensive doing all that ferry travel and buying a ton of +12 healing kits.

I know that. Li'norala is just much easier for a leathercrafter or tailor to get to than Sunken Isle (which I believe has all MA stations). I've heard the monastery has MA tailoring, but I haven't tested that yet, I only hit MA tailoring recently. Gnolls are only for weapons and armor, and duergar are much better for that task.DeputyDog wrote:Gnoll hq has crafting stations too as doa few other high level hostile areas.

That's probably because the item prices were just bumped by x5 all across the board ecxept for nuggets and sarcs. The price cuts were a bit strange and I think that explains the weirdness, but then the orginal prices were quite a bit whacked too. Clay tiles, masks, oak staffs and black mantles were all worth more than 10k, and these were items that I frequently looted.P. Fricebottle wrote:I am personaly for the increase in prices. Monastery does have master artisan, Kronk gave me some master artisan gloves he made from there (and oh yeah they rock!).Elagneros wrote:I've heard the monastery has MA tailoring, but I haven't tested that yet, I only hit MA tailoring recently.
