I dont belive sr stacks ever. so dont count on it.

As far as I've been able to tell only monks can get improved SR and that feat stacks with monk SR. Subraces having SR should be considered as having an item with the appropriate amount of SR on it (since that's pretty much how t works).

I would think that the Drow's SR is a natural ability and that by training as a monk you could increase upon this. It might be that the devs chose to do it like an item for two reasons. 1) A drow monk would be pretty much immune to spells. 2) They couldn't get it to stack so they made it that way.

The only stacking of SR that might be balanced is that with the SR feat (could perhaps stack with item or spell SR too?).
But seriously, a high level drow/githzerai/etc. already has so much SR that only an almost equally high pure caster could beat it, so taking SR feats might hardly be worth the extra spell protection (unless you wanna specialize in assassinating mages :twisted: )...
