Just a quick reminder to NOT download the patch till the devs give us notice.



Also was reading through the changes and copied some here that caught my eye:

*Fixed Damage Immunities against weapons with more than one damage type (e.g. Halberds with slashing/piercing damage) to work correctly.

*Immunity to "Mind Affecting Spells" will no longer make you immune to the Monk's Stunning Fist attack.

*Immunity to mind spells no longer makes you immune to the Assasin's Death Attack.

*Sneak/Death attacks now properly respect the Pale Master's Deathless Mastery feat.

*Added support for WeaponType 5 (Bludgeoning and Piercing) in the BaseItems.2da.

*Updated Morningstars to use the new Bludgeoning and Piercing WeaponType (BaseItems.2da).

*The following weapons have had their WeaponType changed to 3 (Slashing) in the BaseItems.2da in order to bring them inline with 3rd edition D&D rules (and their NWN in game descriptions): Longsword, [censored] sword, Greatsword, Katana, and Double Axe. (This is a good one for you bastards word wielding ppl out there :P )

*Added missing armor proficiency to Gnolls.

*Implosion now properly ignores immunity to death magic <--- very important to take note of when casting near party members now.

*Phantasmal Killer now properly respects Fear immunity and properly ignores Death Magic immunity (Great for mage)

*Weird now properly ignores Death Magic immunity (Great for mage)

*Mind fog now properly respects immunity to mind affecting spells

*Fixed an issue with the way the damage calculation was being done for the Cone of Frost monster ability (Will this affect the arctic wolves?)



My main hope is that the dual dmg type weapons truely work properly now, might actually make that Scythe Master!!! :D

*Added the ability to turn on/off the Heartbeat logging in the log file (default is now off)

Is this going to have any benefits for server performance?

i was reading the list and seen that PM's are no longer going to get hit by sneaks and that there is a swearfilter .2da.....that sounds interesting.

Saw the swearfilter before, there's also a name filter lol...

I tested the scythe out. It's affected by both Peirce and Slash resist, however it is not affected by Peirce or Slash Immunity, so the point in being a scythe master is no longer futile :D

Did further testing, if both peirce and slash immune are present, the lowest immunity amount is used to block dmg.

If both resists are present, the highest is used.

So using current lvl 16 gear the max protection vs a scythe would be 25% immune and 10 resist. To get the 25% the target must have 25% slash immune AND 25% peirce immune.

So as far as I see, using a scythe makes plenty of sense now. Only disadvantage is being resisted by either slash or peirce. However since the criticals are what a scythe is used for, this resistance is negligible really.

Hooray for halbeards too! :D

So what damage type were these weapons before? Thought they always correctly were blocked by slash resist/imm.

* Updated the duration of "Camouflage/Mass Camouflage" to bring these spells more inline with 3rd edition rules (x0_i0_spells.nss, x0_s0_masscamo.nss). Also updated the in game spell descriptions to reflect the change.
Hmmm....so is it longer or shorter now?

Divine Favour shouldn't get an extra 5 round when extended, but it was like that for NS4 anyway.

The swords were set as slashing and peircing before. Now they are just slashing. Which is sort of a bad thing since having a dual dmg type is a bonus, mainly when criticals are involved. Them being switched back to pure slashing hurts the WM's mainly.
