Firstly, let me say.............This is only my opinion and i look forward to what others think. No need to get personal. ok

NS4 Beta was released to early.............Way to early.(all the complaining from peeps prolly didna help dis )
As a Vet NS player i have found it completely frustrating trying to lvl and 'bug-fix' NS4. (especially when the bugs never seem to be fixed??)
The content lacks in everything EXCEPT imagination and dev commitment.
AND the you-beaut comps that are hosting the server are as fickle as 'oil-producing sheiks' (let me say, the suppliers would be getting an absolute trashing on the web and any other media available to me. so much for 'ol fashioned customer service).

*sighs* Like i said, this is my two-cents, nothing more.

From what I've seen so far the devs have an awesome start.
Gotta remember they do this in their spare time.
Though it would make sense to fix a few bugs, and reload the servers once a week (though I don't think they have to reload the mod onto the servers to get bugs fixed... . ).

no, thrar was right in saysing that there is a lot left to be desired.. tho it wasnt too early... just too early for some ppl

some ppl need to not play the beta and only the finished version.. some can only play the final version b/c they cant handle things not being set up perfectly for them.. which is ok b/c it's a video game.. adn they want to be entertained to the fullest.

i personally come and go to the mod. i'd really erally liek to see quests and jobs.. they play a huge huge role in teh mod and are a great deal of what it's all about. right now it's more or less a un-bered NS3 w/ the community split in2 7 parts randomly fueding about thigns they dont even know why...

thigns will fall into place once teh mod has developed more.

IM NOT HAVING A GO AT the DEVS and the time they expend for all of our enjoyment.

I simply stated my two-cents worth. and for you Jester, i will be a little less cryptic ................er duh...Why didn't they spend more 'closed' dev time before releasing to 'open' beta.
My reasons for asking this are two-fold, (like my two-cents)
1) Many, and i mean MANY players are leaving to goto other servers.
2) Peeps are sick of getting bugged by the same continual bugs, crashing due to instability or simply peeved that they cant get their characters for days on end while a particular server is down for an extended period.

Finally Jester, you talk of "i think" and "what i have seen so far". Educate yourself with a little 'homework' before you shoot off your mouth......cause my two-cents may suck, but your rationality is non-existent.

BTW........personal is as personal does.........k jester??

Ok, I'll sound off on the original statement in the post.

This module is in beta test. The intention of open beta is to allow public to help find the bugs and let the devs know, not really to play (although they are nice enough to let us do that too.) I for one am glad it is open beta and I didn't have to go through a whinging and pleading letter to get permission to play (because I would not have done that and I would never have seen this amazing world.)

Hardware problems on servers on the other side of their country from the devs... it is an annoyance; but it is something that you either need to get over or just wait until those problems can be resolved. New hardware fails... it happens. Alternative solution is to create a new character on another server and see what play is like there (and see if you can find bugs to be fixed.) I have characters in every faction; when the game goes live, I'll have a good idea where I want to play and where I can level my character from any of the cities.

Bugs need to be reported properly in order for the devs to properly prioritize what to be working on. Use the bug tracker; some bugs are minor annoyances, some are major exploits... just because it bugs you does not mean it is a major bug. Think about bugs in global terms not personal. See if the bugs that you are talking about have been reported. See if they've been resolved or if you can offer any suggestions on how to repeat them.

And of course, this is my opinion.

if you where in the closed beta and saw where that started from and saw where it is today you'd have a different appreciation for everything NS4 is, i didn't even like it at all during closed beta and i chose to leave for a while, now i come back and i see how much has changed and how much the devs actually listened to feedback on goods and bads.

there is always probs with anything you do, it's overlooking the small things for the larger picture that some people can't grasp. this is not a bash to anyone, nor singleing anyone out it is common knowledge.

there is really no reason to complain (mental note the word beta into your heads a few times) this is the reason they are running open beta is to get a widespread of ideas oppinions and eyes for probs. if you see something wrong report it so i can be fixed asap if you have a solution, give it. every little bit helps besides spamming the forum saying "this sux" with nothing suggested to resolve the situation.

But yet again, i am unable to get my character from LA, another server crash....and for days......again
The answer you say is simple, change my alignment and goto another server......Unfortunatly, my guild is aligned with LA (Guards of Neversummer) so making a new character really does not work in this instance.........perhaps if LA had an allie????

So the only difference between NS and a MMORPG is that you don't pay a subscription fee? Fixes would happen faster if I had a Ferrari or several to show for my work on NS

Even with all the complaints, bugs, hardware failures and crashes... I think it's safe to say that everyone playing the beta has had fun at some point or another. Isn't that the point of a game in the first place? Unless the DMs and developers are banking 6 digits from Bioware, I think we all should cut them some slack. Keep up the good work.

u guys are babies, i remember when the closed beta first started, u couldnt walk into a single building, and there was 1 guy selling everything in the middle of the cities, and u know wat, i still had fun back then, just wait it out people
