Sword Breaker
How about a sword that adds to your skill in Disarm? make it really bad damage, maybe even so that it can't cause any in combat damage, but raise your disarm roll by say 20% ?

Not sure, but I think you could use something similar to a +attack bonus when using the disarm feat to increase the chances, though that may require the addition of some sort of hak, which I think NS set out not to do at all.

The only problem I can see with that is if this weapon could be wielded in your off-hand. It would still grant the feats but allow you to use them with your other weapon. I guess you could put it on a two-handed weapon.sep caldessian wrote:attack bonus +4

Why damage bonus -10? Why not just "No Combat Damage" mod?
And if it is to be dual wielded it shouldn't have +4ab, it should have Ambidexterity and Two-Weapon Fighting, instead of +4 ab, since +4 ab only works for the offhand weapon, not your over all ab?
Even then you would have -6 over all to ab when using Disarm, -4 from Disarm and -2 from dual-wielding (if in fact you have ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting and are using a small type weapon)
If I were to make a weapon breaker item it would be:
Greatsword:
No Combat Damage
+6 AB
Visual Effect: Sonic (I like that visual effect
)
And use your own Disarm feat, not any bonus feat from the weapon.

It should have Ambidex and Two-Weapon Fighting on it. Yes I know it's a two-handed weapon. ;)
And it shouldn't have the sonic vfx because it doesn't make sense.

OK, here's what I suggest:
Since it's a greatsword you have no chance to cause your opponent any damage while you're using it. To me, this seems like a proper balance: you reward those that invested in the disarm feat(s) and martial weapons, while still maintaining the need for strategy: (pull it out now? He could kill me before I disarm, but then again I might get lucky...). Also, there's a greatsword model with a /\/\/\/\/\ jagged edge, so no custom work is needed.
(Greattsword)
No Combat Damage
Attack Bonus: +8
