I believe that's standard bard song progression as outlined in one of the manuals. (HOTU or Gold manual).

Pop a bless and an aid potion +4 ab for ya. (Sarcasm intended)

But I think a level 40 bard song should have at least +4 to ab.

One line of thinking is that the other buffs are good enough and that adding more AB is overpowering. The bard's main benefit is the song can cover many people with their buffs so extra strength on top of that increases exponentially. If you want the song to be better in epic levels, try taking the Lasting Inspiration feat. Cast Bull's Strength or Cat's Grace on yourself. :) I think bards are fine.

Main melee benefits (maximum) of bardsong are:
+2 ab
+3 damage
+5 ac

Cursesong is:
-2 ab
-3 damage
-5 ac (effectively +5 ab)
All that for ATLEAST 10 rounds, with NO possible way to avoid it other than deafness I think.

Not to mention that at level 40 the song duration is like 100 rounds or something (150 rounds if lingering song and lasting inspiration stack) with the proper feats.

+7 ab and +7 ac using both bardsong and cursesong, please don't tell me that is not enough, I think it's crazy powerful.
Toss on a good taunt roll and you have effectively +13ab... For your WHOLE party, not just you.
That's insane.

I think it is fine the way it is.

105 rounds not 150

10 x 10 (for lasting) + 5 (for lingering)

cursed song does damage, not - hp too

it's still pretty powerful in either case....

If I remember correctly, the bardsong was custom scripted in NS3.
