Sudden prejudice against NS3 "powergamers"

You know what. You guys took it the wrong way.

DMs/Devs/Admins should listen more to players and not just from the authoritative state... that's their mistake... they had a vision and anyone come crossing to scrutinize it is shredded to pieces... and anyone complimenting it or addding ideas is welcome.. wth is that. =D
And of course you all expect players to say good job and etc... but no there will be people who will disagree and YOU should listen to them. Why? For @*(@&#( sake, they are contributing as well, you just don't know it but they are trying their best to help you set this mod out to be great not just for Pkers, RPers but also for those who dont have time, powergamers, etc.... You should understand them and not just bash them.

And clearly you dont have the 100% care for your gamers since u said well there will be players who will leave and there will be people who will come, and since more people are coming, who cares. Wrong. You should work your way to maintain player base and extend help to those who may be straying in the wrong path. Don't just shrug them off.

Sure NS4 is a long way to go, but again first impressions last. NS3 is different from NS4 and it will take TIME for people to adjust to that fact. TIME. So instead of bashing here and there, comfort them. NS4 sure is not done yet... but where are the old DMs? Delorin, Jezobel, etc....
Any word on them? Keep the players updated pls also.

Of course I may be dreaming that this would ever happened, but then again this is my 2 cents and yes I have been critical of you guys. But as I see it, there are more players who does not like PK than those who PK.
I mean... those guys are having fun without the PK thing and I hope that sends something to the devs that PK toleration is a must.

Question now is, is ns4 uber like ns3? Well u can check out my polls before and define what is "uber" anyway.

As for me, too bad there are not much mods out there like ns3 and that truly what brings players back to ns4 hoping that sooner or later they would get a glimpse back of ns3.

My last saying would be don't trash your old players around and pretend they won't affect the module since they ARE part of the community and as a community we should strive to help each other to reaffirm our community to stand in times of transition

There seems to be alot of anger hovering around NS4. I agree, you should never bash the "old" players for speaking their minds (the old players are the reason you make the new mod...not just to gain new players). At the same time, the new players should understand why the old players still log-in to play.

I have been on NS4 a total of ten times now. I will not go back anytime soon. I am not happy with how slow the play truely is. That does not mean I will never go back or that I do not appreciate the hard work and dedication that has been put into the mod. Creating a good mod is very difficult at best.

It would be nice to know that if I voice my "opinion" on what makes the mod good and makes the mod bad, I will not be bashed, trashed and kicked to the curb for a newer player or for the fact somone else does not like hearing what I have to say. This thread list many good points and bad points from both sides of the fence. As with anything in life.....your maturity level and abitlity to listen, comprehend and apply logic will dictate what actions you take in this forum, mod, game and life.

For the record, South will never be the same again. Mz and Mr were truely great DM's. They will be missed sorely. I do not know why they left but it should be felt as a tragic loss for the community. Just like the loss of many other great "old" players and DM's. Maybe a shrine should be created to represent the lost DM's and truely "great" players that have moved on with their lives.

Hhhmmm....this August will make two years for me as a NS player (took a seven month vacation from life in the middle). I plan on sticking around for many more years to come. For now.....send me a tell when NS4 is released and not a beta. Thanks for you time.

Make them as logical and pleasant as possible. Make the smooth communication do the talking. Think carefully what we are about to say. Let us solve whatever problems we have through an open dialogue ok?

Maybe my donations shouldn't necessarily give me any say in the way things are in Neversummer, but I think they should at least render me immune to such dev/admin harrassment as banning me just because I confronted them with a grievance and stated my opinions.

However, the NS team can be sure they won't be recieving any more donations from my company...

I'll concede that point AE/Jordan I really don't think that was a bannable offense. I'll also clarify that I feel you are quite right in voicing your opinion, hey, all my posts are opinion, the ban seems a bit harsh, I thought it was reserved for excessive foul language, constant spam, or abusive content, none of which really applies to your post, hopefully this was just a mistake and we'll see you back on soon, a least once ns4 is finished. So far your char's had the best biography I've seen on the server, kudos for that geeky RP touch .

Well, this AE guy, not a huge loss I think, be gone then. I had made a noob LA char, and was shopping in town, when I hear battle music, it's AE killing LA guards....but he's not hostile to me.......I ask what faction he is from, he says LA, I say then why are you killing our guards....

"Because it's profitable......" Then he professed to wanting to become unaligned anyway and the only way was to kill faction guards.....but I still saw him in town, non hostile killing guards for a few days after. Just was disheartening in a RP sense.

I then being annoyed, throw a couple dispells at him, I think I was 5th lvl cleric or something, and then he pk'd me of course and called me a noob and a geek for caring about the game too much.

I have been playing on NS for , jeez almost three years I guess, I like NS4, hope it will be even better after Beta, if this is the type of player we are losing, so be it.

I think you were both right, and both wrong, had you tried to dispell me , I would have killed you, had you tried to kill my guards, I'd have killed you, either way let players play the way they want and if that infringes on your way of playing, KILL EM... Or try, if they kill you, well then look at my sig. And no more complaining about being pked!!
But you were also both wrong as in you let it degenerate into personal attacks.. There was no reason to say "you suck", you were complaining from his killing guards from an rp standpoint, well then a "Have at you!!!" followed by an attack would have been more appropriate, and AE, you should have just ignored it (the whole "your attitude reflects your immaturity" was uncalled for, you did the right thing by killing her though heh), I know, it's hard, I have trouble ignoring ignorant remarks sometimes too, but it's the right thing to do.
Now that I have once again made my opinion heard, I shall retreat to the shadows and *sneak attack* Haha NC, I kill your high marshalls and where are your defenders? dang it, not again, must make a conscious effort to not hijack topic......
Eitherways, yeah, mod's please unban AE till he does something wrong, and in the meantime, let's just kill each other nicely ok? No personal attacks other than in rp context (I.e. Dwarfs smell bad and drink too much mead! ha! take that RK) would seem appropriate to me, again, feel free to correct me anyone

I am about as anti-n00b pk as you can get and I gotta say, you deserved what you got Morrigan.

As far as the bann is concerned, unless he said something that offended other than what is written on the forums, I can't see any justification for it. Sounds like moderators just being childish and spiteful to me.

Couple that with the fact that he has financially supported your mod since the beginning, you should show a little more respect to him, even if you dislike his playing style or disagree with his opinions.

That is a personal attack on all the DM's and Devs for this mod and i dare say thats why he got banned

ya know what? i got to the stage when i couldnt play NS3 anymore and if i logged on i would just sit in town and talk to the DM

when u could solo dwarves , sky G1 LP etc including pookiy and all the other tough bosses in LP, well it gets boring

i dont miss uber , i like the new world and the way the mod is done
uber is good for when i 1st joined NS3 like a year and a half ago , uber was what i wanted, but i saw how fast uber gets boring

lvl 20 in 3 hours lvl 40 in a week
its rediculous
and only time u saw a party in NS3 was for dwarves pre HOTU and G1

here you see invading parties, and just leveling parties and sure there is some PK, big deal its encouraged which is another thing i like
you calling people who actualy play the whole faction war thing rp geeks really shows your maturity

Grow up, and take some of your own advice you have so readily bestowed apon other people

your fortunate you only got banned from the forums, maybe ur contribution prevented you gettin banned from the game

cause if it was up to me you would have been banned from the forums and EVERY NS server be it NS4 or NS3 permanently for that remark
