Don't know, but I have problems trying to use it.

I'll stick with campaign cartographer 2 Pro. Its based on a CAD engine and I find it easier to work with.

I don't know when I'll have time to finish them, but I am doing some work on maps for ns.

For now, I'm working on a large color map of the NS4 lands. My only problem so far is figuring out on some of the landmarks... my eyes are having a hard time determining which are roads and which are rivers. Well, mostly its obvious, but a few aren't. Yes, I have the larger of the 2 jpgs.

I've done screen dumps of ns city, v3, and the tileset area to the east. So I can import those as bmps and draw them.

CC2Pro has symbols for things like house, castles, etc. Of course, they wont look the same as the ones in NS, but its very easy to label things with text.

I'll post when I get some of them done.

screenshots

Post by vadvaro »

I have just been taking screenshots, shrinking the screen, then cut-n-paste my in-game minimap to a new jpg. I have saved several areas like that, and then have been combining them into a world map. Problem is, my map is only as large as my solo explorations, as I can't be jumping back and forth when people are waiting on me.

I posted the original map, but I haven't worked on it since. Been spending all my time in the WoW Beta. Here's the thread:

http://www.nsrealm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=698

A guy named Crymsyn said he was going to work on completing the map, but I haven't heard anything from him in awhile.

My offer still stands: If anyone completes the map, I'll happily host it.

As for not being able to load area 1, I don't know what the problem could be. Maybe try redownloading it?

FYI: those screenshots you have can easily be imported into the zmapper map. Might be easier than glueing together a big jpg.

I haven't actually tried it myself, but the help docs make it sound easy. Try selecting a room and examining all the pages in the Properties menu. It's probably in there somewhere.

It's quite a lot of fun. The whole game is a "quest grind" as opposed to an Everquest-style "xp grind". You're *always* doing quests. It's so much more palatable to kill 20 murlocs for their fins than it is to kill 20 murlocs for just XP. Oh, and the graphics are amazing

It's also nice that there's (currently) no PvP. And even when they do implement PvP it's planned to be 100% consensual.

Call me a carebear if you wish, but I abhor non-consentual PvP. I won't be playing NS4 unless the devs decide to make a non-PvP server.

bleh, i was hoping they'd have pvp servers too. I don't mind if ppl don't want to pvp, but i don't want to wander around and see invulnerable players.

As far as I know, the WoW pvp system is still being designed. They may very well have full-pvp, or at least full Horde vs. Alliance PvP servers.

To each their own.
