Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
I just noticed that the Silver Sword of Gith longsword has Attack Bonus +8 and a +10 racial, but no enhancements. Is this intended? Seems a little gimped to me.
Re: Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
Play a fighter and it will be enchanted, play a paladin and it will be enchanted.
Unless you have to fight with +8 DR mobs or players (pm/clerics or cots) you won't notice the difference.
And you got a nice tool to beat on Ilithids.

Re: Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
the only difference between +8 attack bonus and +8 enhancement is that enhancement will provide +8 damage (unless bonus dice provides more).
+8 attack bonus will still break X/+8 DR
+8 attack bonus will still break X/+8 DR

It's by design.

Well nothings wrong with the sword but I find it weak because It can't be enchanted.
Re: Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
There is almost literally no difference between having +8 attack bonus and +8 enhancement bonus on this weapon.
Both add +8 attack and both break x/+8 damage reduction (tested and proven). +8 attack bonus does not add +8 damage like enhancement bonuses do like korr said, but that +8 damage does not stack with the 2d12 slashing damage already on the weapon, making the damage component unnecessary.

From recollection, it's max(2d12,8)? I'm not sure, I can't say I've ever tested it.Rufio wrote:There is almost literally no difference between having +8 attack bonus and +8 enhancement bonus on this weapon.

Re: Silver sword of gith lacks enhancement
That might be true, but average roll on 2d12 is 13, so usually that is the controlling case.

Yeah the only downside that i can see is some very specific shifter forms where you'd be better off with something else but the options are so very open its all just a matter of personal taste.
Damage stacking is an elite science. As any vet will probably not tell you
