Trouble Connecting

Does anyone have a suggestion for the following? When I load the multi-player and click on "Join Internet Games" nothing shows up, so I cannot log into ns4.

Thx, but when authorizing player name I get a message "could not connect to master server. some multi-services may not be available" If i hit cancel and attenpt to find server, i get "connection to server has failed. server not responding(timed out)".

getting same server not responding conection timed out. Has the ip address changed? last loged into server last week.

Not sure Twig. Did not see any Multi-player connections, but used my history to find NS4. Now I see that address as offline. Lokey explains the situation an other thread, but way over my head(as I do not understand all that stuff).
Anyway someone can paste the IP address? Not sure if this is possible.

Unfortunately you have bad, coincidental timing. Your original question was about the gamespy stuff. The basic answer is gamespy got bought out and the new owners let the server room/hub die. So the Multiplayer > Join Internet game won't list servers (more likely forever). The direct connect shortcut link i gave is a way to bypass all of that and just go straight to NS4.

The master server thing is not new, that occurred a year ago and will always remain as well... there is a way to shorten the wait during that part of the login (here: http://www.nsrealm.com/public/ns/viewto ... &t=1003167). But that master server thing has no bearing on anything nowadays, today, or yesterday or a month ago.

The coincidental part is that, when I was reasearching the exact links to give you on my first post, I tested them out (direct connecting to the NS4 server) and it turns out the server is currently down. I went to IRC and announced it to everyone there, but I didn't get any direct response. So you are just waiting for a dm or dev who can restart the NS4 game server in order to play now.

Did you reinstall the game? Not sure what "can't see all my characters" means to you.

I did. What it means in my case is my list of characters to play on the server only shows 3 low levels and none of my high level toons I had made.
