Neversummer Mapping Project

Post by Elagneros »

Some of you may have already seen or even used some of the NS4 maps I've done.

Now while those maps show much of the layout of the world, there's little detail involved. I have a collection of screenshot maps that I took years ago and I've recently started adding new ones. What I'm planning on doing is creating a whole set of maps for the entire world which I'll add to the wiki. I've already started on doing the faction areas first:

For centuries, the drow of Aetheria have lurked in their city of Menzoduran beneath the world's surface, strking at their enemies below and on the surface. They thought themselves safe in their secrecy. Now however, the secrets of Menzoduran have been laid bare:

I could have sworn there was a second SL bind point in Menzo proper, but I couldn't find it. Possibly it was in the temple, but got removed because of the relic, or maybe it just wasn't added in the 1.69 remaps.

I also included an old map of Menzo when it used the City Exterior tileset on the wiki for historical purposes.

And...crap. I left out the link between Menzoduran: House Tunnels and Menzoduran: Shadow League.

Quick question guys:

Was NS City remapped in the 1.69 upgrade? I already have a complete map of the city pieced together, but I made it over five years ago and I don't know if it's still current. My toons aren't strong enough to check it out yet either. I mean the main surface area of the city, not the sewers, I assume those were redone like the other sewer maps in the game (and the NS Sewers aren't exactly a high priority map, since I'm not sure what purpose they serve anymore).

I didn't change the layout, just cut most of the buildings. I might have moved the castle, forget. Inn and castle are the only interiors, South Wall and sewers are gone.

C'mon MA or NC or Underdark, I get so lost well, in all of those. At least I'll be able to find my way out of the foothills now :)

I still have a map of the old sewers though, I may put that on the wiki for historical purposes. I can see why they were removed, since it was just a low-level area for LA noobs and it's not really needed now. The exterior South Wall map is still there since I quick checked it out recently, but I didn't hang around long because the toon was under level 10 and I didn't want to get mauled by the NPCs. He ended up getting eaten by a werecat on the way out.

So the most of the old bind points are gone too, I take it? There was one in the temple, but it sounds like you pulled that out. I may have to redo the NS City map a bit then because I had the LA bind points on the map like the others I put up.

Speaking of which, what's with the bind point in Evenshire? It's still a blue bind point, like the old LA ones, but I was able to bind RK and MA toons to it. Did it get switched to neutral, or were LA bind points opened up to all the factions?

Also, why does Avendell have a Winter Rural map now?

Anyway, here's the next faction map. This one was incredibly difficult for me to make....

Image

It probably should have some of the tunnels around the Underground Lake, but that section I'm planning to put in a single large underground map that'll cover everything from the Sea Caves all the way over to the Yuan-ti City.

Next will probably be the TC map. I haven't decided whether or not to include the Enchanted Forest with it, I'm leaning towards yes for the moment. After that MA and LA. The LA areas have a mostly finished map already. MA will probably be the hardest to do because of Angmar.

The non-faction overworld areas will probably be broken up like this: Ash Mountains, Haddon Mirk, Redhorn, Old Wyrm Road, Black Hills/Marsh, Giant Mountain (mostly finished), Amazons, Sunken Isle, Frostadale, Skara, and Isle of Dreams. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with the Deep Woods and the Southern Pass yet, I might put that in with Haddon Mirk. The Underdark will have the large area map covering the main upper level, and then later the lower area underneath it. The planes will be another big group of maps, and probably the hardest to map out.

Then there's the dungeons which will include the Warrens of Tul'Gik (mostly done), Clan Great Maw Caves, Clan Glork Caves, Old Town North Crypt, Rock Peak Mausoleum, Bandit Headquarters and the hideouts near Avendell, Gnoll Pits, the Formian Hive, Tomb of Morsatai, Duskhaven Crypt, Arnoth Mountain tunnels, Tomb of Gustav, Catacombs, Minotaur Lair, Urgrok's cave, South Road tower, Enchanted Forest tower, Mezzoloth lair, Quith'yot's Lair, the dragon lair in the Black Marsh, the troll cave on Giant Mountain, the Ice trolls caves, the Ice Giants caves, the Frostdale caves, the Frostdale crypt or whatever it was, and anything else I'm leaving out (not counting various caves that link up somewhere with the Underdark).

I can verify you uploaded it, but did you rebuild module on server?
