Mighty Rage got dispelled
Mighty Rage got dispelled
I seem to recall there were another thread about barb's normal rage getting dispelled (couldn't find the thread though). I believe DMs have fixed that issue. But I met a similar issue today when I was soloing at FH. My barb's mighty rage buffs got dispelled by forest callers without any checks (I also tested with my guild mate to make sure it did happen). Could DMs take a look at this issue when you have a chance. Thanks.
Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
yeah its super glitchy. Some AoE's seem to just knock it right off. Mixed class barb rage drops out all the time. Good thing its a free action. It's easy to keep your eye on it

NPCs get cheesy superpowers sometimes also. For instance, Mirandees in DE have an aura that dispels any shifter shapechange without save or SR (probably other types of shapechange like the spell, RDD, druid, etc, but I haven't tested). Good times.

And un-counterable spell 'abilities' on some.

Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
My favorite is without a doubt the beholder anti-magic cone that Menzoberra was throwing around a couple months ago. Back then it dispelled *all* buffs, including blinding speed, racial tokens, and all the obvious stuff like ava, uef, FoM, bardsong, etc. It almost instantly wiped our party when that cone hit the otherwise rock-solid kobold shifter tank we had (Mr. Crow) as everyone else dropped like pins against a bowling ball. I think it's gotten nerfed since because we have killed Menzo since then and I don't remember anyone getting fully debuffed in later runs.
But yeah, that was a pretty disappointing end to an otherwise great run.

Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
This was no strange npc dispel. We tested it in Melencia. I dispelled rage with a GR dispel from my bard (DC 11 btw)

This aura actually has a fort save, it is just a pretty high save, like around 50.Daral0085 wrote:NPCs get cheesy superpowers sometimes also. Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
My understanding was that the aura's "normal" effect had a save, but the de-shift property does not. We have shifters that can make DC 50 fort saves pretty reliably, but they still get deshifted (My dragon is one example of this).

Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
The Mirandee DC ticks once a round at an escalating DC - it starts at like 30 then rolls up to about 60 - it stops affecting you when you fail it, so it probably goes into the 100s.

Re: Mighty Rage got dispelled
I think the aura's normal effect is to deshift shifters. I have never seen it do anything else. I've been able to bring shifters with high fort saves into DE in the past and not get deshifted. The problem is the check is made every round, so eventually most shifters get the deshift even with a decent fort.

IIRC the DC increases after each check... so it WILL get you eventuallyRufio wrote:This aura actually has a fort save, it is just a pretty high save, like around 50.Daral0085 wrote:NPCs get cheesy superpowers sometimes also.
