I like the idea of a weekend event, start it on a saturday at 9am est. But it'll have to wait until after the Bloodsport event is finished.

  No jobs bonuses, no relic bonuses?

Now thats what I call a level playing field for a grinding out lvls marathon event :D

Like in any marathon, they have 30 minute breaks. I can create an unstable portal to Avendell, that should give players enough time to travel to their guild mules and re-gear, and get back :)

ok, so can i get a recap of what the deal is?

what time does it start, what's allowed, are there groups, is this a thing where dm's throw monsters at us and we kill them or just plain ol' lvling map to map?

I just got back on the server and my stores of higher ended items are a bit low. so that would make veterans of the server at a higher advantage point then newer people. (i'm refering to the re gearing factor as we lvl up.)

How bout everyone is only allowed lvl 1 items? so it's about the build not the items a person has?

also how many people are allowed in a group?

Brando will correct if wrong, but today and next Saturday are heats two and three of the three heat Bloodsport.

Making Mr B.S. (brando scamp) Marathon event two weeks from today. Time to be announced, perhaps based on player votes, Brandos schedule permitting.

All attending are in one group.

Newer players attending, make a freind in the next two weeks, who can help you out with atleast some basic GM and IA armor or robes etc. Twiggy, pick a guild, and hope they have some scraps in the donation/poor box.

If everyone is limited to lvl 1 gear, then clerics, druids and bards become king and we spend 5-10 minutes every rest cycle as they buff up our loin cloths and table legs.

Fergus Glonshire [FoN] - Sakij Lovac [FoN] - Zatharus Rivermoon (TSS) - Bumble (TSS) - Body built for SyN

How is this different then when you have a bard or cleric or druid in your party anyway?

that still puts the advantage in the hands of veteran players, aren't we talking about ways to make this fair? in order to do that everyone needs to have the same gear.

i'm in a guild, but so is half of the server, we will all be fighting over the time to gear up so we can get back to the event. also i'm not accustomed to the mules, so i'll just spend the 30 minutes trying to find where all the crap is to put on my toon, 30 minutes i don't have because 4 people where in front of me to gear up at the guild mule.... besides what if i wanna make a toon that isn't in my guilds faction? I like assassins too, i won't have a guild so i'll be at a disadvantage.

P.S. choosing colors for this was way too difficult....lol

Lord Twiggy.. the event is to have fun, the MVP awards are just to add spice to it.. everyone who attends is a winner, they gonna get some serious if not finsihed toon out of it. I know it was suggested that it be a race to 40, but I think the players have pretty well chimed in a NO on that idea.

As for regearing, the wise player will have a side mule ready with the gear they will want to change to at each level up. So there is not jostling for items on the community mules.

Just think of this as a fun way to interact with the server community and get some serious leveling done to boot.

One way to do this would be to have any regearing taking time away from when you're levelling.

I've read the replies and questions asked, and figured I should respond to some of them.

Its pretty much decided not letting this be a race to 40th, because theres to many things to factor in. What it'll be is a "old school 24hr non stop gain as many levels a party can" marathon. The date I'll leave up to those wishing to be in the event, and it doesn't interfere with events already taking place.

It'll be held in one area, and the monsters will be spawned in waves, it's the quickest way for players to grind out levels, as well as rest and rebuff. This is where the players on the event will have to be careful what race/ecl, and classes they choose, because the level of the monsters spawned will be that of the parties level as a group, not as individuals.

I've read some stuff about players not having enough re-gearing, and it possibly taking time away from levelling. This isn't a spur of the moment event, you're being given plenty of time to prepare what you'll need. My 30 min break is only suggestion, if more time is needed to re-gear your toons, then you all decide. Just remember, once length of time is agreed upon, thats exactly how long the unstable portal will remain open. Anyone not making it back before the portal closes is out of the event.
And... there is no way a player sneak back in if he/she is late, because the area I have chosen doesn't have transitions.

*In best Twig voice* Likes idea about voting for important and special peoples Ghostly does. So if other people's likes it, Ghostly agrees to that too:)

fair enough....so who all is gonna be in this....how bout posting ur build. Class/race etc.

i'd like to be in but what i'm gonna make is dependent on what other people are making...would like it to fit into the group nicely.

i'm good weekends...saturday is prolly the best day. and i would suggest early saturday so those who go to church can still make it if they so desire.

there is going to be probably dozens of players there.. build anything your heart desires.. and not many are gonna want to post thier builds.. it be like Achillies saying hey look at this wimp arse heel I got. Ill give you this much, Im bringing a cleric.

most ppl are expecting it the saturday following the last heat of bloodsport.. that still good for everyone?

Twig been spreading news of this event to some of the lower key players that dont lurk on these forums like the rest of us NS addicts. Expect a huge turn out.

As for gear I have been suggesting that each player, make a mule just to hold the gear they will want beyond store bought. Ive already got mine and started to load it. To each thier own, this is just my way to have a Indy 500 pit stop in the shorest possible time.
