So far I have discovered this bug:
whenever I use invisibility/improv. invisibility followed by tiefling darkness skill, darkness stops working as soon as I hit any target (dark circle still remains, but I got no sneak attacks on target and I am visible for monsters without ultravision). Using tiefling skill after invisibility and first attack works fine (beautifull sneak attack chains + invisible for mosters without UV).
And question... what is purpose of True Strike skill? Using item holding it wastes 6 seconds from 9 seconds of duration, what means even with 5 attacks per round I get any benefits for 2 (or even 1 with bad initiative roll) of them... bad trade for 5 attacks (whole turn lost by using iteam). I would suggest to change this skill for something else (minor poison (1k4 con)/infinite per day? - assassin lacks poison for common use | or maybe some spell.... Blindness/Deafness | Find Traps | Keen Edge (2 x per day) | See invisibility).
Assassin bug + question
Re: Assassin bug + question
The invis/darkness bug is not assassin specific. It's just a known thing that you cannot combine invis and any form of darkness. It just takes a little bit of thought and adjustment based on your current usage goals.
First note: darkness provides the same 50% concealment that improved invis does. So if you are fighting against creatures that you know will not use ultravision on themselves, then you are safe not using your II at all. The darkness will provide the same concealment that you desire.
If the creatures that you will fight are going to cast UV on themselves, then you can first cast II on yourself, then hit something to dispel the invisibility part (your 50% conceal will remain). You can then use the darkness token and will maintain all the concealment bonuses you desire.
As a last note, if you are using darkness and find yourself against enemies with UV and wish to invis yourself to escape, you should be able to do that. If you plan on returning to battle, I believe the bug will persist, so you need to rest and start anew if this case presents itself.
As far as the truestrike token... yeah it's useless. The devs are aware that it is an available token for assassins and some ideas for changing it have been discussed. Nothing has been implemented yet, so just ignore it for now. (To be completely honest... it actually can be used, it's just very difficult to do.)
