Healing Kit Issue/question
Healing Kit Issue/question
When using healing kits in the past, they would not unstealth you when used. Even though they heal for a lot less then potions and require significant skill and item investment. They also weigh a ton over any potion, making it even more difficult to carry around for rogue based classes with low strength. Sure, potions have the quick use penalty that heal kits do not. But heal kits are penalized when used in combat as well. Overall, being able to use them stealthed made the penalties worthwhile.
Was the recent change that made it so they couldn't be spammed also intended to unstealth characters who have invested a lot to use them? Whenever my stealth character tries to use them in combat, he is ejected from stealth, and takes more damage being hit then the healing kits recover.
Can this be looked at?

Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
yeah, I think thats the way it should be, lest 127+ hide/ms toons roam the world with 100+ heal healing people for 1000s of health without being seen.

All tho I utterly hate hipsers, I think puting on a bandaid shouldent push you out of stelthmode... How about aply a penalty, say -50% for 5 rounds instead?

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Well, its rather a big bandaid, around the size of, well, a shortsword.VagaStorm wrote:All tho I utterly hate hipsers, I think puting on a bandaid shouldent push you out of stelthmode... How about aply a penalty, say -50% for 5 rounds instead?

Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
Some of my favorite toons are hipsers & hiders and I fully support the changes that have been made. As a player that subscribes to 'no chugging' magazine, there is no reason to remain stealthed while healing unless you are attacking a non-spotter and they managed to hit you inbetween one of your 10+ rounds of hipsing attacks. If you can't take the hits and beat em, then you should be dying, not running out of combat and healing. If you are fighting someone who sees you, none of this applies, as your stealth status due to the kit makes so difference. If it is PvM that you desire to excel at with this tactic, stop soloing and get yourself a cleric. Or just run far enough away and have a chug.

Just goes to show.. even within the depths of depraved vilianity, can be found a pearl of wisdom.Bargeld wrote:Some of my favorite toons are hipsers & hiders and I fully support the changes that have been made. As I stated in last nights discussion of the matter; I have several HIPS characters and I also fully support this "no heal while hidden" policy.Bargeld wrote:Some of my favorite toons are hipsers & hiders and I fully support the changes that have been made. Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
I object to the fact that its changed so drastically.
I consider all of the points I put into heal a waste considering good potions heal for 300, and require no skills at all to use.
Even rings of Shiv'las heal for 140, far more then any kit ever could.
Healing kits are a sore waste of skill points, ones I could have used in far better ways had I known about the change in advance.
Right now, healing kits are just about useless in comparison - and thats the part that sucks .

Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
Well, thats not quite true, healing kits are pretty damn efficient at lower levels, but yeah, at higher levels you want to use pots. Rings of healing <<< Rings of (Kultach/Lolth/+5 skill/Slave/Malar/etc)

Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
Something should be done with the points put in thou
think thats the point of his post, possibly putting a multipler or something on the skill points put in
might be a solution, the way they stand, yeah, them points are wasted, and came quite late in the game
when there many things out there much more broke than what heal kits where by far

Re: Healing Kit Issue/question
Heal kits seem to work as expected now, all is 99% in my book.
The only issue with them now is that you can mistarget on the ground and it burns the kit. If targeting validation could be added they would be 100%.

As far as I know, the only way to do that would be to force them to heal you and only you.Bargeld wrote:Heal kits seem to work as expected now, all is 99% in my book.

Thats spells.2da targetting. Unless you want to have an override to use heal kits, I think I'm right ;p.Bargeld wrote:Try targeting a bulls strength on the ground.
