Re: ABOUT BIGBIES

As for the topic at hand, whenever I have had mages in the past I either made the choice to not use the bigbies spells, quite honestly they never truly appealed to me. Or just used ones that I personally liked.

Yes they have been nerfed, but as with the bidbies spells as they are across the board you have potential effects such as: slowing target, stunning target, potential -15ab, potential 48 damage for 20 rounds, 56 damage for 40 rounds + potentially stunned for 20 rounds.

Might have mixed some up, but basically the spells are not useless.

Personally if I managed to stun a target for even 4 or 5 rounds with a bigbies would make so much difference.

So yeah just re organise tactics to suit new spells.

All info for the spells and other things to do with Neversummer can be found at http://www.nsrealm.com/ns4wiki/index.php/Main_Page

Yes a lot of mage play is about tactics when I first rolled out Warlock into pvp I would end up dead more often than I would kill but as time has gone on I have worked out what spells to use and when and as a result I have a lot more fun with him and kill a lot more people.

Bigbys are one way to make your enemy's day bad but there other spells you can fling at them to slow them down and allow you to drop spells of whirling death onto them.

I think Warlock still has nightmares about his fights with Cheeze Wiz.

ivillek wrote:Hello everyone, this is my first post in these forums. I´ve been playn wizards and sorcs for some years now, and the changes on bigbies, as well as other spells, are interesting because they make the game feel "new" somehow. Ive got some suggestions as far as PvM is concerned (havent tried much PvP yet):

lvl 9 bigby, crushing hand, is good as it is.

lvl 7, grasping hand, usually fails to hold the enemies, making it quite useless.

lvl 6, forceful hand, hardly ever works - wich is a pity really, since knockin enemies down is a very useful ability for mages. I also feel that, even when it does work, the duration of the KD is too low. Maybe it could last a bit longer, to give the mage some time to run around.

Those are my impressions for now! Would be fun to discuss this subjects with others.
Been a (long) while but... the stun from 9th level bigby = amazing!!!
7th level bigby has other spells to make subjects more 'susceptible', not to mention 7th level bigby + grease + slow + flesh to stone = a character than can NEVER EVER EVER run away from a pile of poo that doesnt move anywhere.
level 6 bigby... who uses level 6 bigby?!?!?!!?

thunderclap hits all 3 saves, not just reflex. so they are forced to have all good saves not just one.

Really? I didn't know that. Reflex save here is overrated. Mages are good for crafting like pure druids, the gear is great. Mages can be a dispeller but I tend to make mine a Killer. Bibgy's are not up to par. Mages got nerfed in like the year 2006 for good. That is when I started playing the toon, especially the Sorc. Delayed fire ball, etc........ the extended spells are nerfed if you look closely (or maximized, Damn the female Slave, she was an Rk toon then became an Okie, then a SLave(Man I forgot) and not Katy's playground either. She told me and I was pissed, since then I am like ok which toon does that effect. Hee, Hee. Mages are good vs pvp not pvm.
