Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
I'll vote for Pepe if you kill Mr. Crow. Isn't there a bounty on him anyway? I bet zerg would honor this in the spirit of the contract: http://www.nsrealm.com/public/ns/viewto ... &t=1002252burrahobbit wrote:I think my favorite part of this example is where Pepe gets to kill Bontot and save Mr CrowScoring a point for NC in the process. You can raid with anyone from any faction. You just cant drop relics, you gotta take em home if you pick em up.
If Pepe the Prawn FoN of NC and Mr Crow of TC raid together we are breaking no rules, but after we grab a relic, Pepe has to run his little shrimp legs to NC, and Mr Crow has to run his smelly kiester to TC.
Pepe can then run back to TC to help Mr Crow defend if pepe chooses to do so and is still not breaking any rules.
If Bontot PWnD kills crow and gets a relic out of TC and Pepe (the hero!!) then kills Bontot and grabs Bontots relic, i am assuming that Pepe will then have to take the relic back to NC. If you pick it up, you gotta take it home.

That is it in a nutshell. Again I fully promote the cooperation of friendly factions to work together to reach a decided common goal. Just remember that the toon that decides to pick up a relic is at that point bound to attempt to return that relic to said toons faction of origin. This will require some careful planning as well as ongoing comunication. End result, a much more structured form of war as well as a fun show for the Deities of the realm to sit back and watch.

Frog,
I'll say it right now buddy.......if your "Rogues for the NC" marketing blitz ever comes to fruition........I'll vote for you as MVP in all upcoming relic events! Well, at least for the next three years.

As far as I'm concerned, the event is interesting and all, but giving the statue award to whomever manages the biggest group of people for a few heats one weekend is hardly rewarding the real "defenders of the relic".
That statue should go to whomever has the relics the most during normal play, in other words whomever has the most points on that scoreboard in Avendell, averaged out over the last like 30 days.

Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
the only real problem with that is most factions and players don't obsess about the relics so much that they "have" to have them constantly. they just use them as an excuse to go pvp with each other.
rewarding pack rats for being the only ones who want to hold them constantly just doesn't make any more sense than rewarding those that show up for an event to make a show of how powerful they can be.

Yeah - it's nice to have it be a special event. For day-to-day play, the reward for holding the relics is the xp bonus.

Rainswept,
I have to disagree. It does take perseverance and commitment for a faction to hold the relic advantage for extended periods, however, in most cases that is a reflection of an advantage in faction numbers....or more accurately, the amount of time that some players can commit to the game. Some factions simply do not have the numbers of players to compete in a month long format.
With the relic event split into heats, factions and guilds can plan accordingly. It is much easier for guilds to comprise a competitive team this way. The PvP is much more exciting when there is a strong attendance.....every relic cap is a serious achievement.
I also appreciate the amount of lead time that was given to us. As a result, I think we are going to have a lot of players actively involved in this event. Job well done to the Devs/DMs. Thank you.

Re: Defender of the relic rules and guidlines player feedback
I might also point out the difference that multi-boxing is allowed in daily relic war, but not in events. Hence the difference in player numbers vs toon numbers.

Don't get me wrong, the relic event does deserve a nice reward, I just think the statue is more fitting for those who actually defend the relic day in day out. It doesn't have to take anything away from the weekend warriors and the statue for getting people on for a few heats. Both are good and fun, but I think actually defending the relic deserves a reward as well.

I'm assuming if I'm playing a TC toon and pick up the NC relic I can take it to NC still? I'm assuming so since that can be done without ever transferring the relic.TheEdge wrote:burrahobbit wrote:I think i am reading this right........
