ABOUT BIGBIES

Post by ivillek »

Hello everyone, this is my first post in these forums. I´ve been playn wizards and sorcs for some years now, and the changes on bigbies, as well as other spells, are interesting because they make the game feel "new" somehow. Ive got some suggestions as far as PvM is concerned (havent tried much PvP yet):

lvl 9 bigby, crushing hand, is good as it is.

lvl 7, grasping hand, usually fails to hold the enemies, making it quite useless.

lvl 6, forceful hand, hardly ever works - wich is a pity really, since knockin enemies down is a very useful ability for mages. I also feel that, even when it does work, the duration of the KD is too low. Maybe it could last a bit longer, to give the mage some time to run around.

Those are my impressions for now! Would be fun to discuss this subjects with others.

you can extend the forceful to make the kd last longer...which is funny.

the bigby line of spells is pretty shoddy right now and needs a complete redo, but i don't pay enough for a dev to do it :(

Level 7 doesn't "hold" enemies anymore, it slows them as per:

The truth is just an excuse for those with a lack of imagination.

Mages general stink at lvl 25, the dc stink vs PvM, your dc of wail sucks. (Only ppl you will pk is ppl who cannot build a toon) Mages summons will not last for long and since bigys stink you are running. Going into Epic areas all you do is run because your dc stinks, so gather like 10 ppl to help you and hope you survive.

Everything gets nerfed here and mages got the nerf stick real hard. I can build a mage to lvl 30, because it is me solo. After that forgettabbooouuttt it. Mages are good in a party for PvP, but they are usually the first ones gone.

Bigby's I think are not nerfed but other spells like thunderclap should have no reflex save and fireball. If you did that in real life with the area * height * width, no one would be alive.

I remember my first mage got nerfed and I was pissed, you get used to it after awhile, but while you are out in the forest, look for some special trees and gather the limbs, cause when more nerfs come along, at least you have a club.

thunderclap hits all 3 saves, not just reflex. so they are forced to have all good saves not just one.

To be fair, the only people who agree with the recent mage nerfs are the 80ac 70ab CoTs and Shifters.....So that leaves the other 66% of the server who really think it stinks (a majority ;) I think it was a "squeaky wheel" type of situation, where the squeaky wheel just didn't want the other factions with mages that could survive their melee toons

I'd love to see an 80 AC, 70 AB shifter. I really, really would.

*Puffs out chest and starts to brag*

I can rip apart an 80 ac 70 ab cot in a few rounds with a mage in lvl 16 gear. In fact, i bet i could run a 50/50 split vs 2 cot's at once if i had room to move. Maybe you just need to learn how to play a mage if you guys think they have been nerfed into oblivion.

Silly AO, little do they know that the only "shifter" build that can hit 80 ac and 70 ab by itself is only buildable in AO.
