Fortunately for NWN2, there's some pretty talented developers creating some sophisticated tools for the game.
One of which is a client extension that has been developed that prevents a few crashes that the game experiences and adds some nifty new features to the game for players, DMs, and developers.
You can read more about the client extension here:

Or, you could download the extension and documentation here:

Re: NWN2 Client Extension
Thanks!
But
Is it even necessary for us usual players to play it in windowed mode?
EDIT: for those who had the same difficulties as me to find it, its under GRAPHICS and then View Options. Just turn off the full screen and enter the screen resolution you want to play with.
But
How do you do that? Tried to change that under options, but there is a lot of stuff heh. I guess its under nwnplayer or such - where you have to change a line.It is recommended that you use the game in windowed mode to get the most
out of the client extension.

Re: NWN2 Client Extension
The only thing that really benefits players is the improved chat shortcut sequences and of course the crash fixes. But if you don't care about the chat shortcuts, then just run NWN2 in full screen mode like normal. You'll still benefit from the client-side crash fixes.

Re: NWN2 Client Extension
Since I've posted this last, SkyWing has done a lot of updates to his extension. His most recent version (scroll down to the 'Release 1.0.0.14' posted here http://nwn2forums.bioware.com/forums/vi ... =118&sp=75) adds support for:
- Creating macros that can be used for spells (offensive and defensive), swapping equipment, activating feats, etc
- The ability to chain together those macros and assign them to hotbar buttons.
So, with one button you could queue up a line of offensive spells, run through a buffing sequence, change your gear loadout, etc.
Plus, he's added some improved chat functionality and loads of bug fixes to the game itself...
Definitely worth checking out.
