Re: "Pure" bardsong
stop yelling at me - you'll hurt my feelings.
Also, what do you mean the bard bonus sonic damage bypasses all resists/immunities? I've taken EER: sonic on more than a couple toons just to get away from bard damage. It doesn't work? Did I waste my time? Am i an idiot? Answer only the first question, please.

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

Re: "Pure" bardsong
Here's how it works
If the damage bonus is applied to your character, then it bypasses immunities/vulnerabilities. If the damage bonus is applied to your weapon, then its subject to change due to immunities/vulnerabilities. This is a Bioware bug. Its why Divine Might (which you'll notice isn't on your weapon, but you) doesn't increase in damage, even if the creature has divine damage vulnerability (like many undead). I *think* resists will block it still regardless of where the damage bonus is applied... I guess you can test this and let me know.
Its also why MA's infernal vigor item is so nice... the 1d4 neg damage will bypass Negative Energy Protection.

Well.
Bard attack barbarian with energy resist sonic 1:
Song up (76 perform, +12 sonic damage), mundane dagger - does 12 sonic damage (no resist noted in battle log)
Song up, Chanter's blade - does 17 sonic - battle log notes Damage Immunity absorb 1 point of Sonic

Re: "Pure" bardsong
Physical damage types are ok for immune/resist/reduction according to Pelor. It's the others that are not (TC cheese job, bard sonic, CoT cheese, div might, AA magic is what I can think of offhand).
If others, a search for "EffectDamageIncrease(" will catch them. Ignore the hogre ones

Therefore, you should increase CoT cheese, or give rogues to NC. I promise my first toon will be a hogre cot/rog
Interesting. I've always heard Resist Energy and EER were good to take, and I assumed that more would be resisted from the Chanter's Blade (like 10 points, versus the 1 I saw). I guess I'll try to test more before investing in those feats. Huzzah for the scientific method! (If I can be bothered; I really just prefer to play)

Indeed, I can think of a bazillion items with divine resist or immunity on it. Keep your paranoia bottled up in Menzoduran. Where it belongs
.
And the TC cheese job gives a bit of extra dmg for 10 minutes max. It really is devastating. I know it won't cheer you up, but I usually forget to activate it, heh.

At the absolute maximum, it gives 2d8 for 8 minutes. Oh, and it picks the same element half the time, so 1d8 for 8. Joy.Nyeleni wrote:Indeed, I can think of a bazillion items with divine resist or immunity on it. Keep your paranoia bottled up in Menzoduran. Where it belongs.

Actually, even when it chooses the same element it still stacks, it just doesn't display on your char sheet. Hooray!

Re: "Pure" bardsong
Tested through smacking around goblins in panther form: it stacks. I did 12 fire damage when it only listed 1d8, and panther is unarmed so no weapon bonuses are possible.

It always stacks. It is, as Lokey said, extra dmg.mining wrote:Tested through log, I don't think it does.Daral0085 wrote:Actually, even when it chooses the same element it still stacks, it just doesn't display on your char sheet. Hooray!

Re: "Pure" bardsong
Please do not stack the damage. The Forest eye is not supposed to be used in that manner. We are on our honor not to stack. Please only activate it once and not again until 1st activation expires.
