Customizing the CBC

I thought this deserved it's own thread,

If you look at the columns on the "Character" sheet in the cbc, you will see the it skips from column AC to AP. First "unprotect" the sheet, then highlight the AC to the AP columns (either using shift or clicking on AC header and dragging to AP), and then right click and click "column width". Type in at least "3" (although the AP column will shrink because it is actually "17" wide).

You will now see a "Bonus" section where you can enter the appropriate adjustment at the level you are using the book (if using INT book at 10 to de-level to 9 and get the extra skill point, put the bonus 2 at lvl 9 to show the correct skill points). If you want to return the sheet to normal, highlight AD to AO and change the column width to 0 (also you can put the width of AP back to 17).

Now this is slick. Can't wait to try it. Sometimes that dang spreadsheet is more fun than the game! Maybe there can be a new plane based around this, appended to HoK

I redid mine to include the NS4 races (at least to make stat adjustments and some feats, like giving githzerai Weapon Finesse); if you look at the Race2 tab, there are instructions for unprotecting and modifying to add new races.

Any other tips for customizing the cbc?

I've used CBC since day 1, and unfortunately, it will provide superior builds. All I can hope is that people get frustrated and give up or that they just plain never figure it all out.

I always enjoyed a good laugh on the inside whenever a non-tagged group member or shouter said something along the lines of 'i think i'll take rogue next level, what do you think?' Using CBC you should never ask that question, because your roadmap is already there before the toon is ever created on the server.

To me, the hardest part was sorting out the racial changes for subraces at char creation. My tip: when you finalize your build in CBC, before you print/pdf the output, switch the subrace back to the main race and follow those stats. It will then work out for the subrace that you want.
