I hate to give credit to the dirty stinking lizard-kissers of AO, but Bontot (I think) actually used silence with some effectiveness in raiding NC the other day. It was certainly unexpected ...

My bard couldn't remove an enemy curse with remove curse spell.... Did that get fixed?

You can remove Curse Song with restore but Curse Spell should only be removed by remove curse, which shouldn't work on Curse Song.

I think that curse song DC should go against a will save MINUS Half the amount of points that you have put in listen
