A few shifter questions
A few shifter questions
1) Do racial abilities (e.g. SR from githzerai, save bonuses on svirfniblin, darkvision on drow/duergar, DR from earth genasi, etc) still apply on shifted forms?
2) If I get an epic shape feat (construct, undead, or dragon) before lvl 35, and then multiclass to something outside druid/shifter, do those shapes become immediately unavailable, or is the multiclass restriction only used before you get the shape feats (that is, the class restriction is a prerequisite for taking epic shapes, or is it a requirement for using the epic shapes)?
3) If I can triple multiclass a shifter (see #2) and get monk, I know the wisdom AC bonus is disabled on shifters, but what about the other monk bonuses while in shifted form? Do I still get monk speed bonus, unarmed attack sequence, class skills (pumping disc and tumble to 40 would be nice), evasion? I tested all this in standard NWN, but I know a lot of work has gone into nerfing shifter/monks, so I want to check this before I pump 35 lvls into druid/shifter only to destroy my build by getting a third class that doesn't work.
4) This is less important to me, but is there some place that has the latest info on shifter special abilities? I'm pretty sure the wiki is out of date, and I've been reading through the change log but the last thing I can see for shifter just has the ability names, not what they do. I'm sure this is stored somewhere, but I have no idea where...
Thanks

Re: A few shifter questions
racial abilities work
when you multiclass at any level the epic shape forms are lost
all monk abilities carry over except for wis bonus to ac.

Re: A few shifter questions
yeah, there isn't any really good documentation of the shifter abilities. I have a few shifters so I have a pretty good idea of what everything does, but it is still pretty vague sometimes. In fact, lets compile them. I am going to start a new thread...

Re: A few shifter questions
Not all racial abilities work. Only those that show up as a buff do. For exsample: druegar immunity paralysis doesnt work while druegar invisibility does.
Thats because abilities saved on creature skin are lost when shifted. And thanks god for that, it would be extremelY hard to kill druid/dd if it had all immunities DD gets on his skin

Thanks, guess that means no evasion, 40 tumble, and 5 attacks per round for me... *tear*

Re: A few shifter questions
look at building without using epic shape feats if you want some interesting builds. I have like a billion multicalssed shifter builds stated out by now.Daral0085 wrote:Thanks, guess that means no evasion, 40 tumble, and 5 attacks per round for me... *tear*

Re: A few shifter questions
Forms were designed around not having those things. Designed is probably too strong a word...I randomly mucked with stuff until Cluckster decided it didn't suckDaral0085 wrote:Thanks, guess that means no evasion, 40 tumble, and 5 attacks per round for me... *tear*

For third classes, fighter and rogue are ok in a bunch of different mixes (13 rogue + 25 dex = epic dodge). Cler for divine feats (would cap dodge ac too easily I suppose), bard for a great skill list...

Re: A few shifter questions
So I blame Cluckster for everything thats bad about shifters. Man, you should have never been satisfied unles you see its seriously overpowered, and then when it is say "well. it's not really good but I can work with this". Learn to whine man, learn to whine......

Re: A few shifter questions
Yup, I'm sure there's a bunch of interesting things you can do with humanoid forms and triple multiclassing. This is my first shifter though, so I'm planning on doing a classic dragon build first and more complicated stuff later.Rufio wrote:look at building without using epic shape feats if you want some interesting builds. Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!
