That's not a drawback if you decide to use a rapier, all that juicy 1.5xstrength damage AND rap crits.Nyeleni wrote:Err, Lilia Thistle was a str based ghostwise halfling. Sry to shatter your opinion. Only drawback, she couldn't use a scythe.

I have a pure bard on the back-burner now that 3 builds have jumped in front of on the what-to-build-first list because there are probably 20 or more identical builds running around on the server.

Re: Pure Prestige classes
On all the shifter comments, you can multiclass with shifters, you just can't take undead, outsider, construct or dragon shape feats.
The normal shifter shapes can be pretty powerful in their epic forms, you just can't dump all your str dex and con like you can with the other forms. I have a ranger/druid/shifter at level 38 that is working pretty well for me right now that gets a really good combination of AB, AC, and damage output. Just take one form you like and build around it, taking the appropriate weapon focuses for the build and you'll find that you can make some decent toons without ever taking an epic shape feat.
Also, the elemental shapes are no longer a viable build option. They were nerfed recently, check out the post in the change log where all the shape's stats are listed, the new elemental stats are there. (not to get too off topic, but man, i was expecting that hit to dex on the air elemental form, but with the new con stat, my hp and fort save went from good to complete crap. I don't even build non-shifters with a con score that low)

Re: Pure Prestige classes
You can make a shifter using the epic forms (not feat forms) that has amazing AC, AB, and HP.
Barbarian (15) / Druid (5) / Shifter (20)
Dex based using the lizardfolk form. Finessable weapon for the dex-based end, con is off the charts (1200 HP or so), and AC from the dex. Free disarm from the whip he uses, only drawback is damage is a little low. As a bonus 15 barbarian levels allow you to take terrifying rage ';)

Re: Pure Prestige classes
I was talking about undead, outsider and construct forms. They have a problem because most of them use weapons druid cant specialise in and it makes them have really low dmg output.

outsider and construct shapes use druid weapons, though undead shapes do not.

You are right, i guess I was wrong there.Rufio wrote:outsider and construct shapes use druid weapons, though undead shapes do not.
Still, would love to see a discipline class to be alowed to multiclass with shifters. Any one of them would work.

Re: Pure Prestige classes
I ask for discipline class because when you bigsby shifter in undead, outsider, construct and dragon shape, shifter is disabled without any chance of success. On the other hand, when you bigsby RDD dragon, he can have all the feats needed to sucesfully survive the attack.
Some of the players might know me as person that built a lot of shifter chars. Right now I have a lvl 40 one and a lvl 35 one and never play them. Why? Because they simply arent viable in PvP. In PvE they do quite well, even excell. But for pvp they have too many weakneses to play them over any other standard build. And addition of a single discipline class would make them much better. I see no reason not to alow, for exsample barbarian, to be multiclassed with druid/shifter. Barbarian is TC core class and would make shifters much more fun then they already are.
Again, I am talking about epic feat shapes, not the core ones.

Re: Pure Prestige classes
True, but elemental still have imunity crit, better ac and ab then undead, outsider and construct shapes do. And you can help your hp by taking epic toughness feats if necessary. Fort is a problem, but with implosion nerf it's not as big problem as it was for a hipser that most of elementals are.Rufio wrote:Also, the elemental shapes are no longer a viable build option. Re: Pure Prestige classes
I like the idea of the disciplined shifter (with epic shape feats), but alot of that would go crazy. . . QUICK. Look at the 30 RDDs, thats a great example. Now imagine you dont just have 1 (and 1 time a day at the time) red dragon shape. You have an 8th level spell and below immune character with 120 discipline, or a construct, or any of those other really nice epic feat shapes with that much discipline.
30 shifter / 5 barbarian / 5 druid would be the new trend for a long time out of TC I would think.

Re: Pure Prestige classes
The problem with removing that requirement is that a shifter does not need 30 shifter levels to get any of the epic shapes. Actually you only need what 11 shifter levels (epic shifter maybe) to get all the epic shapes? RDD requires dedication with a full 30 levels so the last level you can possibly take something other than RDD is 20. While if shifter weren't limited you could make a 5 druid/11 shifter/24 monk or whatever you wanted with epic shapes.Daltian wrote:Then lets remove the need for shifter with epic shapes to be druid only. RDD that was never suposed to shift can do it without need for wisdom being 30 and can mix in any class in it. Shifter on the other hand has wisdom perquisites and cant mix any clases in it which prevents it to get discipline (which among other things makes bigsby a shifter killer), weapon focuses since most shapes have weapons druid/shifter can't use, evasion, uncanny dodge, .... , and add to that the fact that elemental shape is still much beter and far more versatile then any epic shifter will ever be due to the same reasons and readily available to our enemies.BlkMamba wrote:That would take out the heart of the game,

Re: Pure Prestige classes
Then you'd still have the same discipline as 30 shifter 10 druid?Korr wrote:I like the idea of the disciplined shifter (with epic shape feats), but alot of that would go crazy. . . QUICK. Re: Pure Prestige classes
Pure class is a nobal endevor to one that wishes to play the game for the spirit of the game and adventure. A pure character brings skills that only that character can produce to a party.
but this is a pvp server, i know many tend to forget this form time to time and one needs firepower. Thus a blend of the best features of many skill sets makes for a more interesting and unique build type which often has unforseen results. I have seen many really great builds, and fought many great builds much to my enjoyment, but the dev's can only do so much at one time. Every change both good and bad have unforseen effect through out the game like a stone upon still waters, producing thunderious waves. Ride the wave boys and girls...its going to be a bumpy ride, good hunting.
