Re: Enable PK notify!!1
Nice idea Bargeld, but I fear it could be abused by those who seek to avenge their friends.
One example would be;
Player A gets PKed by Player B
Player C logs on, without any knowledge of what has happened, checks the recent PKing and decides to avenge Player A cause they are part of the same guild/faction. Knowledge about such things could easily be exploited as ppl would log on to check on their friends and make sure they are not harmed and thus avoiding the revenge-logging rule (as Player C would not have been there when Player B pk'ed Player A).
I'm sure ppl do this all the time by calling their friends to come and do them a favor by killing their killer, as they have to wait 30 mins before they can do it on their own. But still, adding this might cause problems, even if its a really nice idea =)

Re: Enable PK notify!!1
agreed. nice idea bargeld. and i think any implementation would require that a player already be logged in while the kill happened in order to replay it. not likely that it could notify you of a kill that happened before you logged on. in either case i think it'd be fine.
not that i feel it necessary, but if you consider tweaking it linux, how about adding your own kills. i know its trival and only in the spirit of self gratification, (lol) but basically if you're in a group pvp (like the event) and you get manage to get a kill you won't get a notice. then you're wondering "who got that one? was it me?" then you scouring the battle log to find it.
also, the notifies are recorded in your battle log too if you weren't aware. so you "can" go back and review them. pretty fun sometimes when there is a long string. of course your own won't be in there.
for that matter, i think they'd be easier to appreciate if they appeared in the chat window text instead of the battlelog text. but that's just my opinion and if more difficult to implement probably not worth it.
still a real nice feature that we're all enjoy very much. thanks linux.
