Blackguard's Unholy Revenger

Blackguards are supposed to be the counterpart to Paladins.
why not allow us to use Holy Avengers or give us a sword like the Unholy Revenger that is the counter part to the Holy Avenger that is +2, +5 vs good, 2d6 Negative energy Damage, and greater dispel magic on hit

They have Corrupt Weapon which is not shabby especially at 30bg lvls

2d6 vs non-evil which excludes half or more than half the characters on the server, I'd much rather have the dispelling ability so i can hit someone who has a million buffs on.
the summon does not help you much when they take you out first especially with a death spell or something cheap like that.

if your a class that gets cha bonus to saves and you die to a death spell....its time to reroll

IIR the dispel on hit won't even strip buffs from pots. It's effectively useless. Paladins however have the purge token which is incredibly useful.

And dispell on hit doesnt exist anymore, you get 2x greater dispell on the weapon, which you can use against anything you like. Still won't do you any good against a dedicated caster.

Ah, stand corrected... Anyways, I think BG is pretty good atm. Not too über like other classes, but not worthless either. Altho a dedicated BG is a one trick pony like a RDD, it has at least very nice saves if you invest a bit into charisma.

How usefull is this dispell? Since patch 1.69, it's only a lvl 10 dispell That beeing said, I do have a build ready for that sword should I ever aquire one :p

If it is like the original NWN one, not very useful. It can help against the self buffed RDD dragon, or dedicated shifter though. Or those CoTs with a few lvls of cleric or paladin.

I had a 30 Blackguard Pre-Wipe,
The Devil is a very good tool
Corrupt Weapon is very decent

pre 1.69 the holy avenger property dispelled at character level + d20, so basically the paladin purge ability on hit. Now its a bit weaker, though like said before it will take out dedicate shifters, 30pm, and a number of other low caster level toons.


Edit : My 30 BG toon uses a Holy Avenger with corrupt weapon for extra damage to good evil and neutral (FLEX)
