First off. . . we all know (As you have stated many times) basically all guilded members in AO and RK (all being the same people). Are all on teamspeak with eachother. . . the chances of "not keeping up with guildmates" is VERY miniscule. Also, if I recall didnt Kim say you cant take over all exits of a respawn area.

That would make sense, but doesnt this issue fall under the "common sense" clause anyway?

Then I tried to leave by the crossroads and was dead at the gate - due to the acid rain between the walls I think - I was dead when the transition finished. I tried to leave by the dark forest again and was killed. At that point I logged - no fun when you can't avoid it.

this is the best example of why, when your doing an area take over its important to communicate with lowbies and allow them safe passage through if they wish to not participate. sure its fun to kill them a few times..but for server health you can't be an idiot all the time.

i'm a bit confused on this one. as for taking over a map you kill everyone that tries to go through, no matter how many times they try because they keep coming back to you. even if it's a level 5 and your on your level 40's. this person keeps coming back to your map, therefore the 3 pk limit doesn't effect this. if i'm standing on the bridge in DF and a person keeps trying to run by me time after time, it sounds like it's thier own fault and they need to find a different strategy to either get past me or to find somewhere else to go.

DF is not the only exit to ave, that's why it was always legit to "own" that map. i understand that if someone is bound in the goblin hut then i will let that person through because i don't want to camp that spawn point. as for people killing in the crossing while people were camping DF, that sounds like it was just a running through and found a lowbie instance.

couple of the reasons i hunt the mountain or take over DF is because of the whole DM idea of learning new areas. this area is WAY to traveled. people aren't learning to level in different places. i'm not saying that i myself don't level on mountain, but it's not the first place i start at level 1, and i change it up between levels in different areas.

for anyone new to the server, and is just on the board to complain about being killed constantly in DF, there's a thread, i'm sure you can do a search or someone will be nice enough to post it later, of where some good lowbie leveling areas are. go to the wiki, find the maps and explore "new" areas. people have forgotten about the snake pits, and that is some of the best exp a lowbie can look for, but you'll never see anyone in there anymore.

now let the flame war on me start.

Diddy, the issue mentioned above was a take over of both the exits from avendal.

As it turns out more a.." oh yeah we didn't think about it like that " moment from the team than a deliberate attempt to pen everyone in. Now I know we have been advised and warned I will be allot less diplomatic

for once i wasn't the one pking in DF or ave crossing so i was unaware of the situation, i didn't state "this is what happened" just from the post that is what it sounded like. . no harm meant there from me.

I'd also like to add, that is a very short list of areas other than Giant mountain. I don't personally want to list any others, because I have enjoyed going to these alternative areas without running into other players stealing my xp, or harrassing me.....or my party.

However if your a newbie and want/need help to go someplace else. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Ajantis, you speak like a true hero from the north ;)

I have a suggestion that I think would solve alot of those "PKing problems" in the DF/mnt trail (from my point of view anyway).

If those that feel they need to camp it and force newbies to go somewhere else (which they wont, they just leave the server instead cause they are pissed on other players attitude and behavior, I know I was but I was too stubborn to stay there anyway and too eager to explore).

Then since the activity in DF has been so great lately, both PKers, PvPers, low/midlvl raiding parties and hoards of giants fighting wild animals there, then wouldn't the population in DF decrease? I mean, If ogres and giants would spawn less due to the great slaughter there then that would mean the whole run would be less interesting. The trail is a path up to the peak, sure alot of good xp rewarding creatures lurk on the road. But those also lurk in other parts of the realms where adventurers don't set their foot very often, so logically they should spawn there more often.

The conclusion is; Less monsters to kill on the mnt/ in the DF means less noobies and veterans comming there for cheap xp. Which means less PKers and also less whining from those getting killed there while trying to have fun and grind xp. At the end, we might end up with more explorers and more PK hunting (I know some players would love the idea of bountyhunts more often for example :p).

This is where the 3 PK rule fits in, more PK hunting means limited PKing =)
