So I had decided to run to the plane of earth for some gear, but when I was there, my game began crashing. I had gone straight to and just entered the beholder cave area before the first crash. When I logged back on, I immediately crashed again. I logged on another time, and was able to move towards the next area for a second, but crashed again. I logged back on a third time, and removed my helmet, thinking the new helmet I got from the DM prize room only a few minutes earlier was causing issues. I continued, only to crash once more, and when I relogged, I was dead, so i respawned. back in ave, I didn't seen to have any problems, so I headed back to the plane of earth to see if things were fixed. I made it then entire way there without issues and ported to the plane of earth, but once inside, I walked a short distance and crashed once more. It may be worth noting that I never once attacked anything in the plane of earth.
The only thing unusual that I noted is that my armor that had a portion dyed silver mithril mysteriously gained a dark copper tint that I noticed after the first crash, but that dye had always seemed to act weird, as it usually appeared more of a gold color, but randomly would look very silver sometimes after a log in, but i don't know if that is related. I also had the silver mithril dye on my helmet that I had changed in the prize room, but after it was changed, the helmet's colors look like a completely different silver now. I just assumed it gained some sort of default color.
All that may be completely unrelated to the actual problem, but it was the only unusual thing to happen besides the crashing.

Re: Crashing in the Plane of Earth
I'd guess its a graphics hardware crash. Probabaly related to the environmental damage or a creatures fog. You could:
change your in-game video settings to reduce the load
change your in-game video settings to turn off a specific hardware feature (antialiasing, shiny water)
change windows graphics setting to override game setting and turn features off
change graphics driver
might bad ram too, system or vid card
it's a computer... could be any number of things

Re: Crashing in the Plane of Earth
Updated the drivers, it fixed the problem
I find it really weird that I would start crashing out of nowhere like that, considering I had been in the plane of earth hundreds of times before without problems and was even there earlier in the day (well, not really hundreds, but who's keeping count?)
But it is a computer...
