Logon says "booted" help?

My friend says that he thinks he was banned, but no one told him why. According to him, someone showed up and said "I'm giving you what you wanted," and the next thing he knew he was booted.

So, anyways, I'm unable to log on any of MY characters that I've played the odd time I was over at his house. All it says after I select my char is that I've been booted. Can banning him by IP (any IP he's used?) break _my_ toons??

If he was banned, it would be great to know why if possible. If not, please un-ban ME! I hardly ever play at his house, and my toons have nothing to do with him... The toon I tried most recently was "Tree (Oak)", and my account name is "visaris7".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like his CD key was banned, and if you created your characters at his house, it would make sense that you can't get at them now that he's banned. Shoot a PM to Loki; he should be able to sort it out.

#2. As to why a particular player has been banned is between that player and the staff. If they choose to tell to others about it, that's their call.

are you saying you went to your friends house and played and went home and now you get booted? if so you might need your friend to login your toons using the same computer you used to create them and disable the secuirty by typing /disablesecurity

or your friend did something wrong, in which case we are taking care of it.

I still can't log in one of my toons, because it says he was created by CD-Key "nothing".

I just wanted to end this thread by mentioning that I was helped over PM by the DMs/Admins, and everything was fixed. Thanks so much for the help, everyone (esp. Kim)!

A really minor followup comment would be that while the DMs were _wonderfully_ helpful to me, I know people who have not been so lucky with bans. I still have a friend that was banned for something he didn't do, and had to buy a new copy of the game to keep playing. Odd that only his CD key was banned and not any of his characters were. Seems to support his claim he didn't do anything. Just odd. Anyways.

Anyways, thanks for the help! You all were great! I hope others get a chance to be helped in the wonderfully kind and professional way I was!
