It gives the option to specialize a bit for extra ab, but if all golems have a different weapon you have to pick a shape, which means you lose a bit in flexibility. (Or use up a whole lot of feats)
Mid 50 Ab's isnt that bad ofcourse, but with 3 attacks per round high 50's AB wont be all that terrible too.

You wont get extra ab for focus scimitar spear etc once you shift. The only feats that work once shifted are the imp crit ones. Also as far as 3 attacks go, consider taking blinding speed as well for the extra 2 ac and 1 ab/att it gives. Its quite doable to have 25dex and your 27 wis for construct shape.
Once i learned the finikie stuff 1st time round with shifters - I went through like 4 or 5 of them pre-wipe, all my shifters have blinding speed now. You just cant beat it. And no more 3 or 4 screens behind the rest of the party when traveling !!
All and all shifters are looking pretty good though, thanks to loki and all his work, im very impressed with the drow and kobold shapes (almost got the epic versions) Very impressed with the harpy song effect, certainly comes in handy when your party is being over run and you can heal them bit by bit every round.

Getting weapon focus, etc to work was one of the reasons to change things

Well, caveat: the unarmed feats working with creature weapons is rumor. I haven't checked if focus unarmed does anything with creature weapons, I don't think it does.

Had some shifter questions, was hoping devs could answer.

2) In looking thru the posts it appears that epic drow (17 shifter) has dex set to 39? Yes
3) Does the drow still use longswords? No, use ss's
4) Does the drow still get improved evasion? Yes
5) Does the drow get weapon finesse, asking this one incase they dont use longswords since the kobolds used to get weapon finesse? Yes

then you wouldnt have to merge weapons, and whatever feats you get would work as expected all the time.
also i've been playing with shapechange spell on my pure druid (as i have yet to get dragon shape feat). do any weapons merge into unarmed shapes? right now i get a lot more mileage out of shapechange-ing into a weapon form since my main weapon's damage stats get added.

For the shifters there are no unarmed shapes anymore , besides the lvl1 shifter things.
all other shapes got a weapon added to them so that your weapon damage gets added to the shapes.

The Immunity to lvl 5 or lower spells doesnt work on the construct shapes.Lokey wrote:Alright constructs.

There is no Improved Crit feat for mage staff. Thanks for all the hard work btw, when you started the shifter changes I think quite a few people were a tad upset, but now that you're almost done I hope everyone will check back in again.
Shifters are probably even more fun to play now than before. Being more gear dependant means its much more fun to find new gear.
And with good gear they're still powerful.
