Watching myself getting bigsbied by the mages running about the server isnt a bother. One thing I wonder about is that why doesnt bigsbies respect concealment? Its an attack like anything else... it should be held to the same rules everyone is restricted by right?
Another bother are the spells (druid mostly that ive noticed) that reduce movement speed and it doesnt ever get better. I think its vine mine, and I know Creeping Doom does it. You enter... get slowed, live through getting out. You are still slow... you have to rest to fix that, but there is no reason you should have to rest once youve left the spells Area of Effect.
Theres my 2 cents for today... lemme know what you guys think!

Re: Some ideas, and bothersomes...
vine mine's hamper movement ability keeps you slowed even after you leave the affected area because it "creates protruding spikes in the ground that spear into your feet"
even after you leave the area...your feet are full of holes and you can't walk as fast

I'd like to get in before the flaming begins and this thread is locked.
I would really like to see the whining stop and for those people who are trying to find ways to make this the most boring place to adventure for our toons, to pause and reassess their motives.
We have meleers whining about the spellcasters and their awesome selection of effective spells. Spellcasters whining about spells being used in relic defense making you lose faction status. We have those whiners of shadowdancers and how so unfair it is that they spam HiPS. We had the whining about the fighters rumble having a ridiculous DC, the paladins diety worshipping (that got nerfed), the barbarian's fear (next one i guess)
This is how it is folks! Deal with it. Learn to combat as no one toon is going to be all supreme on this server. There is no suite of magic items that will make your toon a superhero.
So many people have left this server because of the whining whether it was about spells, classes, races and the most contentious, PvP.
The sad thing is those people who invested their energy to try and shape Atheria into a dull place have mostly gone and the current player base new and old are left with the bad taste.
This is by far and away the most worked on server I have spent time playing. The DMs and Devs are engaging with us and are open to suggestions (note not whining). The DMs are around not as often as before as real life comes first.
It is primarily a PvP server but even that is next to non-exisitent without the relic raiding because the moment a player gets a reputation of being a pker they are screwed.
I personally like the small RP elements that have been added including choosing a diety and the possible benefits this may entail.
Please remember it's a game and once the NWMAIN is no longer executing there is another world out there!
Thanks

Re: Some ideas, and bothersomes...
Eh. i can handle just about everything the server has, except hips. I have an undying hatred of hips, and the people who spam it. It wouldnt be such a problem if we'd get epic wiz's the dc's they deserve. Wail especially, since a wail could, in theory, take out a room full of hip'ers in one shot. Which is what an epic wiz who's spent the feats and such on necromancy should get. Just adding +5 to +10 (depending on how balance would work out) would make wiz's a viable alternative to anti-hips, as opposed to making a pure bard or dedicated ranger / rogue who invests every point / feat they can into spot.

Re: Some ideas, and bothersomes...
Well, Hips was never meant to be in this type of enviroment. It was IMO a bad choice to remove pen and paper truesight from this server. If it was in this wouldnt be an issue and hips would be used as it was intended, to avoid being spotted by city guards, low level characters and hostile monsters.
Hips was never meant to be a way to add 10 levels difficutly to a character. Seriously you could find a player who just bought the game, give him a hips build, and he would beat anyone who isnt built to spot or listen. Having to cope with a weak fort save is really not that hard.
Anyway as you see i agree with the above poster, down with hips spamming!... but dc's are fine and dont need to be changed
O and i suppose you could just make 1 of 50 builds to counter a hipser, but its the way of the boards to complain rather then figure out a way to beat something. So here i am just trying to fit in.

Re: Some ideas, and bothersomes...
I wasnt here to start whining about anything... these are my ideas and suggestions. I dont see what the real problem with checking creeping doom for why you continue to be slow after you leave it. As was stated with the vine mine thing... I am fine with that I thought there might have been something like that, but I didnt take the time to look it up. So others who play druids who know the spells put that out for me (much appreciated). I think the bigsby thing is a good idea because wizards can knock out things like ii fairly easily... but not racial concealment, or self-concealment feats. It would make these things a bit better, the balance is up to the devs... just sharing my two cents.
Another thing that I forgot to mention in my original post, I wonder if there is a way to actively edit your description. I say this because when I think of fantasy, or gothic peoples of note... they all have titles. Some have more than others too, so if there was a way (I would say it should be optional for people who want to keep their stories on description) to have titles involved with gaining prestige in the world. Upon examining a SL character named Boo you could see soemthing like "Boo purger of vermin, aggressor of the weak, reprisalist to the holy of the Shadow Legion" meaning this Boo character has completed all 3 jobs of the shadow legion (purger, agressor, and reprisalist) and gets a little flavor where other things are left blank. You could go further in depth with the planes and other bosses of atheria, talking of defeating Draco, or Lolth... Ragnar or whoever.
Again I dont know if the description of a character is editable to allow this, but I think its flavorfull and would slip right in with the more RP related updates we are getting.
