Exspanding PvP
was talking with a player that likes PvP and the lack of perks with it and reasons for it we came up with the following ideas
XP for Players the CR is toon level +5 ( +5 for being a actual brain your fighting and not a bad AI ) tho this may lead to more lowbie hunting perhaps the CR is only applyed if the toons are within 2 levels of each other? dunno how limited the scripting can be.
another idea was various Titals for # of PKs 1-5 = Sap, 6-10 = Thug ect ect
you could have a NPC or the like that announces x players tital on shout once they attain it.
yet another idea would be special gear and items as prizes for x # of PKs .. 20 gets you a rare drop 50 gets a unique DM drop 100 gets Named specalty item unique to player ect ect

it would be a good idea if it also went into negatives, if you kill someone WAY lower level than you. - 1 through - 5 yellow. - 6 - 10 coward.. so on and so forth. then again some members of would probably be fighting for those ranks as wellPKs 1-5 = Sap, 6-10 = Thug ect ect

Too easy to exploit... unless you have a new twist on it.

It would be a good idea for PKing to have a + side, however if we implement something like that then the entire server would be PvP and people would hunt down others ALL the time hence causing highbies pking lowbies.
If the pk'ing could be made fair it would be good, faction faction random fighting would always be good fun

High levels should kill lowbies... that's what lowbies are there for.

Is it just me who see that pvp xp is totaly explotable...
1. make 2 rivaling toons.
2. bind both at neutral bindspot.
3. keep rekilling eash other. for the cr +5 xp.
4. lvl 40 in 2 days...
If how ever, an automatic rule where put in so you could only kill someone and get xp for it evry 6 hours realtime, the problem would be fixed
Also, shouldit be lvl+ecl+5? After all most ecl races do have advantidges that make em harder to kill :p

Why would I want to count 12 hours twice? I’m perfectly capable of counting to 24, and while we’re at it, can someone go shoot named time zones. GMT+x is all we need!

How about a shout that goes out that so-and-so has been killed by so-and-so whenever a pk occurs? That would be a lot of fun to see. I hate the shout channel abuse, but that would be entertaining enough to sway my opinion of it.

There are other things to consider as well... I do not think xp or gold would be a good idea for obvious exploit reasons. However, maybe adding a temporary glow or aura of some type after a pk or a number of pk's might be interesting. Just a thought.

I am always for more PvP in NS4, so keep these ideas coming

In previous games, we have often rewarded players with a non-stat giving prize. Something temporary, an aura or glow. Maybe if you get so many kills per X amount of time, then a shout goes out that is like 'Player blah blah shows exceptional prowess!'
This could also allow the general population to monitor it themselves. Fear of being reported might curb any desires to exploit, and gratz to you if you just happen to 'bump into' an aggressive group of lowbies on the mountain, for all shall know of your victory!

i have to agree...alot of this has exploit written allover it (but not intentionally) .... id say enact a title system yes...but thats also exploitable...
somthing like this would need to have alot of variables considered and would have to put limits on all sorts of things to prevent people from exploiting it.... and when all that is done i would wonder if it would be a worthy change to pvp at all

i've seen pvp games that give you no bonuses to killing someone. there are server shout messages that say "x killed y"...and thats usually all anyone needs.
of course...if you gank some unsuspecting cracker jack his entire inventory is left in a grave stone where he died....and its funny to take stuff from ppl....and walk to a battle field full of stones
