a monky cannot use any shape that takes a feat...only the base shifter shapes.

There hasnt been a shifter crash since the fix that I've seen, and all other fixes mentioned seem to work perfectly (picking up items while shifted and transing).

Yay 4 polylycanshiftermorphingthropy!

Yeah good stuff... although some unpopular forms can still crash the server... druid animal forms, elemental forms, and some polymorph spells. For the most part, crashes were done by shifters and pure druids because their forms are more worthwhile to use.

Hey now that shifters are kinda stable, heres an idea.

How about if theres a party of like 5 shifters right, they can like click on each other and all morph into like one big shifter. Like Devastator from the Transformers. "I am Devastator!!!"

EDIT: Ooooooh or maybe like Voltron even. Red, yellow, black, blue, and green shifters ready!?! Dyno-thrusters ready!?! You form the legs, and I'll form the Head!!!!!!!!!! (cue heroic inspirational Voltron music)

And they're all moderately attractive teenagers! ANd they all move in jerky, rather stylized martial-arts-type motions! And they don't have mouths, but move their heads around when they talk!

Question I have had for a while - so polymorph can also crash the server, like the umber hulk shape? That was never clear to me, I've been tolds different things, so I just kind of tried to play it safe and not die.

Soooo, to get back on topic. Shadow Legion cant have rangers because they are loners, right? Well I cant imagine a more loner type atmosphere than the underdark. It has its own ecosystem with all types of flora and fauna. With the exception of an "open" sky it fits all the needed requirements that give rangers to other factions.

As far as MA goes, why can't there be evil rangers there? The argument against was made because of the divine casty thing, well MA has clerics. So are clerics going to removed from MA now?
You have scripts in place to regulate what factions can have what class, why can't a script be added to control the alignment with a class selected? A kind of if A do B thing.
And before the "you already have PM's" thing comes up, you can have'em. They have a good AC yes, but that doesn't matter without a spot build because of the whole flatfooted listen HiPS thing. And the only spot class MA has is WM which cannot be used with PMs. They are immune to crit, yep, big deal so it takes longer to kill them. Pally's can still smite the crap out of them. So take them and have fun, then you can get beat down the same way they do. And maybe make it so Ranger can't be taken with PM.

Listen works great... my bard/pm generally wins against HiPSers... Pale Masters are still really powerful.

I'd say in most cases Listen is better than spot because its harder to raise move silently than hide.

True, listen can be higher than spot but that is irrelevant when you are caught flatfooted against someone coming out of stealth. They only need to hit your base AC, which means a relatively low AB rogue/SD can continually kick the crap out of an opponent with a significantly higher AC than their AB would normally be able to hit with the continuous use of HiPS.
One question does come to mind though, does spot and listen combine for a synergistic bonus? Like set trap and disable traps do?
And lastly, with listen you lose alot right off the top, outside in combat with a small opponent you lose a minimum of 14 points. Now take 1 off for every 3 meters between you and the opponent and then take off another 5 for each object in between you and the opponent and even another 5 if the opponent is standing still. That adds up to alot very quickly.

P.S. Ranger is THE only base melee class with spot and they get bonuses for spot and listen with their favored enemies feat. That puts 2 factions at a significant disadvantage in the detection department.

P.S.P.S. Amoenotep, Ragnars Kin gets rangers, aren't they in the same set of circumstances as Shadow Legion?
