Sound effects

Does anyone else think that some of the sound effects in NWN were underdone? Most melee hits are noisier than most spells.

Take the level 3 mage spell Lightning, and the level 6(?) spell Chain Lightning. The sound effect for both is a little electrical crackle, just like Gedlee's Electric Loop, or like you'd get if a minor appliance had an issue. Compare to Baldur's Gate 2 where when a lightning bolt when loose it when *CRACKZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ*

The Fireball sound effect is similarly weak. What ever happened to detonating with a low boom and a roar?

Ice storm sounds okay at least. The Meteor & Fire storm spells should be thundering and crackling though, not just a kind of humming noise. Flame strike is just kind of a fwoosh noise. Come on, where's the divine wrath in that?

yeah the game is much better with the game music turned off, the sound effects on low and medium voices, and Metallica playing in the background.....or System of the Down......stuff like that...

Yeah, but then you can't hear to know about when it's time to alt-tab back and drink a potion.

maybe its the pregnancy thing, but what did you say? I don't know what "alt-tab back and drink a potion means"

if it means you need the music to tell you when a foe is nearby, then okie-dokie.... but normally I don't care, I'm just running through the area most of the time...

heh ... as long as the emotes and voice's are adequate, then its fine by me....
